Pastoral Note:
Being impressed by God isn’t enough.
King Nebuchadnezzar referred to the Babylonian idol Bel as my god. Though he had seen the remarkable deliverance of the Hebrew young men, he was still not persuaded that Yahweh, the God of Israel, was the only true God. He was impressed but not converted. It isn’t enough to be impressed by the reality of God; every person must also individually repent and believe on Him.

El rey Nabucodonosor se refirió al ídolo babilónico Bel como mi dios. Aunque había visto la notable liberación de los jóvenes hebreos, todavía no estaba convencido de que Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, era el único Dios verdadero. Estaba impresionado, pero no convertido. No es suficiente quedar impresionado por la realidad de Dios; cada persona también debe arrepentirse individualmente y creer en Él.
