Faith Now is an ecumenical, open, affirming community for young-ish* adults 18–40ish in DeKalb County to grow in faith, build friendships, ask big questions, and find belonging. Whether you’re working, studying, exploring your faith, or simply seeking a place to belong, you’re welcome here. We’re a space for growing in faith, building friendships, asking big questions, and supporting one another on the journey—wherever you are in life or belief.

Faith communities and local nonprofit organizations across DeKalb County are joining forces for “Support Our Immigrant Neighbors” on Sunday, September 13 at 2:00 PM at “Peace Corner,” 1st Street & Lincoln Highway in DeKalb.

This all-ages gathering will last about 45 minutes and will feature music, stories, and reflections from local speakers, along with prayer for anyone who wants to participate. Attendees will also have opportunities to learn about organizations supporting immigrants in our community, plus voter registration and more.

Members of local congregations, FLAP, DeKalb Migrant Aid, the League of Women Voters, and other community organizations will be there.

Local churches are helping organize the event, but people of all faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds are welcome. It’s a chance for DeKalb to stand together for justice, dignity, transparency, and humane treatment.

The gathering is also part of the Faithful Action events sponsored by the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, bringing together people from faith communities across Northern Illinois to stand boldly with immigrants and their families.

Happy September! May this month bring you peace for today, hope for tomorrow, and joy in the little moments!

We have 4 events this month! We are kicking off our September with our Young Adult Dinner at Sycamore UMC on 9/10 at 6pm, then on Sunday 9/13 at 2pm we will be meeting other faith leaders, community justice activists, and our siblings to learn how to better Support Our Immigrant Neighbors on Peace Corner in DeKalb, on 9/19 we have our monthly Game Night with PRIDE at Sycamore UMC from 4-7pm, then we are wrapping up our month on 9/25 for Hang Out Now our monthly community social dinner!

This Friday!
Hang Out Now is a relaxed Faith Now social gathering designed to create space for connection without pressure or expectations. Food will be provided, games will be available, and there is plenty of room to study, talk, craft, or simply hang out. Whether you come to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, or just enjoy a low key evening, you are welcome as you are. This gathering is geared toward young adults but is intentionally inclusive, and young families are absolutely welcome. Come for the food, stay for the conversation, and leave refreshed.
