We will be conducting a prescribed burn today June 5, 2026 along Highway 83. Due to an easterly wind, heavy smoke may be present on and around the highway throughout the day.

Please use extra caution when driving through the area, reduce your speed if visibility is limited, and be alert for changing road conditions. Smoke warning signs have been placed in the area.

Every person who has visits Glendale Nature Preserve experiences it a little differently.

For some, it’s where they said their final goodbye to someone they loved. For others, it’s where they attended a burial, gathered at the chapel, camped beneath the stars, shared music around a fire, walked the trails, or simply found a moment of peace among nature.

As we continue to grow and share the story of GMNP, we’d love to hear yours!! ❤️

5-22-2026 we will be burning right up next to highway 83. Smoke signs are out. Please use caution when driving in the area.

We may need to add “firefighter training program” to the list of things GMNP offers! 😂

Today’s prescribed burn went so well that someone driving past called 911 reporting a transformer explosion and forest fire.

All jokes aside, thank you to the responding departments for coming out and making sure everything was safe!

All in all, it was a great burn day 🙌🏼

We will be conducting a prescribed burn today on the Preserve. Smoke may be visible throughout the area, with wind currently coming from the south/southwest.

Potential impact areas may include Highway 83 and 183B. Please use caution while in the area.
