FPCD is an open, affirming community committed to inquiry, faith, and service. Our community is open and affirming to all. FPCD is committed to service.

We are an intergenerational community committed to passing on our faith to the next generation. You are welcome no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. Our community encourages spiritual questions and is open to people with different points of view. There is a place where you belong at FPCD, where you’ll form lasting and deep friendships. We have an active children’s program, including

a daycare and preschool, a Sunday school program, junior high and high school youth groups, and our weekly Tuesday Night Together program. These programs help students grow in their faith and form lasting friendships. We use rigorous safety practices, creating a safe space for all children to grow. We serve our community by working with local nonprofit organizations to shelter those experiencing homelessness, feed those who are hungry, and provide school supplies to kids. Every month our church works with at least two local nonprofits to put our faith into action.

During the 1950s and 1960s, the spectacular growth of Deerfield brought a pressing need for a larger church building and the congregation responded magnificently to that need. Soaring 43 feet overhead, the Sanctuary is 134 feet long from chancel window to the back of the balcony and 43 feet wide to the outer walls. There is seating for 474 in the nave, 120 in the balcony and 75 in the choir.

The North Shore Unitarian Church (2100 Half Day Road) is hosting its annual ♻️ Reuse and Recycle Rally on Saturday, August 29, from 10 to 1. Bring the following to dispose of responsibly: 👕 👖clothing, 👟 shoes, linens, 🧸 stuffed animals, accessories, 📚 books, 🧯 fire extinguishers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, automotive batteries, 🇺🇸 U.S. flags, keys, clean Styrofoam No. 6. You can also bring food pantry, 🐶 pet food, and 🐱 pet supply donations, and confidential documents for shredding. It’s a drive-through event, so it only takes a moment to care for Creation! 🌎
