It is with deep sorrow that Trinity heard of the passing of Pastor Harry A. Stackhouse this weekend. According to TEDS Professor Peter Cha, "Pastor Harry was the human agent God used to establish a fruitful partnership between Trinity and the Northern Lake County community." He invited Trinity to the table on several occasions over the past decade with Christian leaders in Waukegan and North Chicago as we began working with him toward the gospel vision of reconciliation. One major way he did this was by helping to design and launch our adult education certificate program in northern Lake County. He also mentored and pastored countless TEDS students and staff members; he gladly participated as a guest lecturer in a number of Trinity courses; and he tirelessly and graciously served in many on- and off-campus Mosaic Ministries initiatives.
In an interview from 10 years ago (starting at 28:21), Pastor Harry pointed the way forward for a reconciling partnership off campus. His heart became a reality through Mosaic Ministries, which he faithfully supported from the beginning. We are ever so grateful.
