A LETTER FROM ZURA
I remember it like it was yesterday. Six years ago, my dear friend Steve invited me to visit the Amazon Jungles with him. Steve was a seasoned traveler who had already been on about 27 trips to the jungle, but for me, it was my very first time.
I was nervous and excited at the same time as I embarked on this adventure to the unknown. The journey started when I arrived at the airport in Manaus. I was welcomed by locals who greeted me with open arms. Even though I was in a foreign land, I felt a sense of warmth and hospitality from the locals.
The moment I stepped off the plane, I knew I was in for an adventure. The air was thick and humid. As I walked out of the airport in Manaus, I was greeted by friendly locals who welcomed me with open arms. I remember feeling a bit nervous and overwhelmed, but their warm smiles and hospitality quickly put me at ease.
Two days later, my dear friend Steve arrived, and we were ready to begin our mission. We had come to the Amazon Jungles to spread the word of God, and we were determined to make a difference. As we set out into the jungle, we met incredible people who would become lifelong friends.
Our interpreters, Miqueias, Flavio, Natasha, and many others, were amazing. They helped us communicate with the locals and navigate the jungle terrain. We were grateful for their expertise and guidance.
We also made friends with a group of missionaries who were already in the area. Bobby, Pastor Ananias, Nick, Ty, and many others welcomed us with open arms and showed us the ropes. We spent countless hours sharing stories and learning from each other.
Sleeping in hammocks was a new experience for me, but it quickly became one of my favourite parts of the trip. I loved waking up to the sound of birds in the morning. It was so peaceful and serene.
Walking through the jungle was both exhilarating and challenging. It was difficult to navigate at times, but we persevered. We were on a mission, and nothing was going to stop us.
Preaching the name of Jesus was our main goal, and we did it with passion and conviction. We spoke to anyone who would listen, sharing the message of love and hope. We were met with some resistance, but we also had many meaningful conversations and saw people's lives changed.
I can't even begin to describe the many adventures we had on this trip. We encountered many challenges: We went on boat rides down the Amazon River, swam with pink dolphins, saw incredible wildlife, and I even climbed a waterfall. It was an experience I will never forget. And through it all, we remained committed to our mission of spreading the word of God.
And now, six years later, I am getting ready to return to the Amazon Jungles with Steve once again. I am excited to see our old friends and make new ones. I can't wait to see what adventures await us this time around. Most importantly, I am eager to continue spreading the name of Jesus and making a positive impact in the world.
Thank you for your support!
