We are lovingly reminding everyone that comes through the doors to stop at the welcome table and be sure to put on a name tag or if you have a permanent name tag to wear it and everyone will be able to feel safe to know who you are and make connections. We are trying to do the right thing and follow the structure of CR and set good examples to follow the rules and guidelines to keep the structure and function of CR safe. To the newcomers, remember to bring your punch card and present it to the welcome table. When it is filled up after six visits, you will get a permanent name tag!

Every 3rd Thursday of each month the Helping Hands Ministry will be open after groups for those that are in need for free food and clothing. We are Grateful for this ministry to serve and help others. We ask that everyone be blessed and grateful for this ministry and show respect to one another and help keep the entrance and exit door for Helping Hands clear to help keep traffic moving freely and safely.
As a loving reminder to keep our group a Safe Place, we are a no Cell Phone Zone. Please keep cell phones set to silent mode and put them away. This eliminates distractions and possibilities of having others feel unsafe. We have Grace for emergency situations and if a phone needs to be used, we ask that you step outside to help keep the meeting area safe. If you bring children to the meeting, we ask that you be with them the whole time until childcare class starts just before large group.
The Praise songs rocked out Again! We filled the room with a joyful noise and rocked out with Jesus. The altar is always open for those that want to come up and pray. There are leaders that will pray with you and share uplifting support. We had a lot of prayer, and you could feel God working in the room.
“Chip Time” is a celebration where we handed out some chips for victories in Recovery and Coins. Newcomers receive a Blue Chip with a Chip Chain to keep encouraging you to keep coming back and earn more chips to the Chip Chain while on the road to Recovery. We had two Newcomers make the meeting! See what God can do! We love to always put it out there to "Bring a Friend." We give out a wooden Nickel for those who “Brought a Friend” to CR. Always try to “Bring a Friend”. If anyone would love to serve in set-up, reading the 8-Principles, reading the 12-Steps, or reading the Serenity Prayer, helping in Chip Time, or breaking down at the end, feel free to contact Nicho or other leaders. Serving is helping in Recovery as well. Please keep hanging in there as the leaders are working hard to make this group work for everyone.
The main event was Lesson # 1, DENIAL. DENIAL is a very loaded lesson to learn, grow and be aware of for starting and continuing your journey in Recovery. Think of the acrostic, Don't Even Notice I Am Lying. Our Hand-Out on Denial is based on Principle 1: Realize I’m not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable. This is taken from Matthew 5:3. Also from Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors, that our lives had become unmanageable. This is taken from Romans 7:18, I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. This Disables our feelings, Energy lost, Negates growth, Isolates us from God, Alienates us from our relationships and lengthens the pain. In Denial, we are slaves to anything that conquers us. Denial is a false system of belief that is not based on reality. We need to be willing to get rid of our sins. It is a process! We are free to NOT choose to follow sin. Anxiety is a byproduct of Denial. Our fears will paralyze us. We are prisoners when we are in Denial. We are as sick as our secrets. Remember, that God Never Wastes a Hurt. You can't heal a wound if you say it isn't there. It is better to tell an ugly truth than a beautiful lie. You can't heal a wound if you say it isn't there. It is better to tell an ugly truth than a beautiful lie. The biggest reason on relapse is because of Denial. You are either living in Denial or living the Truth. We must find the root cause and evaluate ourselves. If you are saying things, for example, it’s not that bad, or I can handle it, you are in a form of Denial. You can be what is called a stage-one of denial of self-protection. When you truly don’t believe that you have an issue. The truth is so painful we don’t want to change. No matter how we hide from our mistakes, it will all come back to haunt you. When left unchecked it will leave us in painful consequences. One key to realizing that the devil is working on you all the time and tries to manipulate you and has others manipulate you as well. This is where we seek God, and He will fight for you. Denial is something that we must face and admit. We must remove our mask and let Recovery begin. We must be willing to deal with the past bitterness, learn from it in a positive and spiritual way, make amends and release it to be free. Give Recovery a chance and enjoy a changed life. You can't heal a wound if you say it isn't there. I am free to Not commit sin. Sin makes us ashamed and keeps us in the dark. God is the light. Follow the light and let Jesus purify us. Stop lying to each other and tell the truth. When we lie, we hurt ourselves. This is because we don't allow ourselves to trust God. Confess to God and a trusted person. God Promises us healing and will give us back what we lost. The truth will set you free!
After Large Group is over then everyone breaks into gender specific Small Groups. There are two different small groups for ladies; “Other issues” held in room 122 and “Addictions” in room 123. There are two different small groups for the men; “Other issues” held in room 124 and “Addictions” in the Chapel.
Be sure to join us at the next meeting on January 15th for Testimony night. Stay connected with your support team and connect often. Our goal is to build in every area of our Recovery while helping each other and preventing relapses. Recovery isn't just for you. Remember to pray for yourself and others. Recovery works if you work it, and you are worth it! Keep your smile on and keep coming back. "Bring a Friend".

The main event was Lesson # 25, Seven Reasons We Get Stuck. Sometimes we get stuck while working recovery. We need to stay connected before a relapse happens. Here are the seven reasons that get us stuck. 1. You have not completely worked the previous principle. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25. 2. You have not completely surrendered your life and your will to the Lord. Proverbs 3: 5-6. Believe and seek. What are you still holding on to? What don’t you trust God with? 3. You have not accepted Jesus’ work on the cross for your forgiveness. 1 John 1:9, Ephesians 1:7 and Romans 8:1. All sins are forgiven. Forgive yourself. Power of Forgiveness! 4. You have not forgiven others who have harmed you. 1 Peter 5:10-11. Tug of war with issues can be won by simply letting go. Don’t hold on to the bitterness. 5. You are afraid of the risk in making the necessary change. Isaiah 41:10, Hebrews 13:6. Falling down doesn’t make you a failure, staying down does. Taking time and proper boundaries in your relationships. 6. You are not willing to “own” your responsibility. Psalm 139:23. You are responsible for your own recovery so do your part. 7. You have not developed effective support team. Proverbs 13:20, Galatians 5: 13 and Galatians 6:2. This is a daily commitment. Work, life and serve to the best that you can as sincerely as you can. Love each other, be joyful, patent and share victories and struggles with each other.

After Large Group is over then everyone breaks into gender specific Small Groups. There are two different small groups for ladies; “Other issues” held in room 122 and “Addictions” in room 123. There are two different small groups for the men; “Other issues” held in room 124 and “Addictions” in the Chapel.
Be sure to join us at the next meeting on January 1st for a Testimony night.

The main event was a video testimony. The female speaker shared about having an alcoholic father with explosive anger. The speaker used humor to cut the pain. Perfectionism became a drug and afraid of failing for others. She went to counseling and picked up books about adult alcoholism. If she wasn’t perfect in the things she did, it sent her down a spiral of depression. She got married and had explosive fights and were newlyweds with struggles. She needed to step out of her service with the church to work on herself and focus on healing herself. She wanted her husband to change but she needed to change as well. She once again felt like a failure for stepping down from her church. One must want to change. She started in Celebrate Recovery and started working the steps with a sponsor. She learned that perfectionism would be driving her control. She went through a divorce and took a year off from dating. Then she dated and married and started new again and had a child. She was diagnosed with postpartum depression. She learned to say the cause of her struggles out loud helped the struggles lose their power. She learned that journaling was a great tool in her recovery. Working recovery is not a “me” program but a “we” program. We need support and accountability to see recovery begin to work. We can’t do recovery alone; it just doesn’t work. Pray for yourself and pray for everything.
After Large Group is over then everyone breaks into gender specific Small Groups. There are two different small groups for ladies; “Other issues” held in room 122 and “Addictions” in room 123. There are two different small groups for the men; “Other issues” held in room 124 and “Addictions” in the Chapel.
Be sure to join us next week for Lesson 25, SEVEN REASONS WE GET STUCK.

The main event was Lesson 24, YES. Say Yes to God! As we become willing to believe, accept and surrender to our Higher Power, Jesus Christ, we begin to recycle our pain and begin to heal. Setting a Christian example, for example, would be to try not to let someone down since this could stop their recovery. Sharing testimonies can help others relate and know that they are not alone and can heal as well. Share each other’s burdens and pain. Share a piece of your heart not a piece of your mind. Stepping up opportunities in Recovery by serving and getting plugged in. Be an accountability partner, a sponsor, a greeter, help with solid rock, serving food, resource tables, praise team, set-up, tear-down and clean up to name a few basics. You could also serve in advance positions as small group leaders, shuttle drivers, and get plugged into the T.E.A.M. as assistant, apprentice, or leader. If you aren’t serving, you are not fully in Recovery. CR prides itself on working together and with each other. There is no “I” in serving. This is God’s Ministry, and we work together as a Forever Family, not segregating duties or spite or control. If this happens, this is a relapse. Step back and work your Recovery. To keep Recovery, you must give it away. Life is a mission, not an intermission. Someone else’s life can change by your positive influence. CR can bring stability and confidence. God Never Wastes a Hurt. Say Yes to a new life from all the negatives that happened. There are two kinds of people in the world, the givers, and the takers. The givers sleep well, and the takers eat well. Do what you can with what you have where you are. Goal Zero on Relapse. God’s Grace is enough, be sure to give Grace in return.
After Large Group is over then everyone breaks into gender specific Small Groups. There are two different small groups for ladies; “Other issues” held in room 122 and “Addictions” in room 123. There are two different small groups for the men; “Other issues” held in room 124 and “Addictions” in the Chapel.
Be sure to join us next week for a Testimony and in two weeks Lesson 25, SEVEN REASONS WE GET STUCK.
