Dear Ladies,
Pam and I want to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Mother's Day. I certainly wish that on such a special occasion we could have all been together in worship to celebrate all that you have done and how valuable you each are within the Christian family structure. Your devotion to Christ, the church, your family, and your children can never be fully rewarded in this earthly life. However, Christ knows of your extreme importance and looks upon you with eternal blessings.
There are many examples of mothers in scripture, but one who stands out above all others is Mary, the mother of Jesus. In decades past, Mary was generally only spoken of in conjunction with Roman Catholicism. It is uplifting to see that now all Christians can speak of Mary in a very special and appreciative manner. Without Mary, after all, there would be no Lord and Savior. Mary was obedient to the will of God and has become a role model for all mothers past, present, and future.
All women are mothers, whether it be to their biological children or through means of adoption or by caring for children in another capacity. It may be children in the church, those in the neighborhood, or whatever other child with which a women comes into contact. Women, as mothers, can make an important spiritual impact on any child. This is why God will always call you blessed.
May each of you have a wonderful day as you share with your family members through whatever means available. Always remember that mothers are the very backbone of the church and society. My only regret is that I will not be able to see you all in person, but with this note comes my deepest and sincere thanks for all that you have done to make this world a much more gentle and Christlike place in which to live.
Blessings,
Pastor Rich
P.S. I want to take a moment to thank Karla Jacobs and her family for taking time to deliver a special gift to each woman of the Boiling Springs Church family. I know that the gift brightened your special day!
