We begin our series "Know" on Sunday. Here is a summary from Pastor Devin about the series. We are looking forward to it!
First John was written to followers of Jesus who needed to be reminded of what is true about Jesus, about the gospel, and about themselves. Written several decades after the death and resurrection of Jesus and near the end of the first century, the Apostle John gives us the marks of genuine faith: walking in the light, confessing our sin, obeying God's Word, loving one another, resisting the world, and believing rightly about Jesus. But beneath all these teachings is this overarching theme: God wants his people to know that they belong to him. In this series through 1 John, we'll discover what authentic faith looks like, confront the counterfeits that so easily deceive us, and ultimately find our assurance and confidence not in the strength of our faith but in the finished work of Jesus.
