Whether you’re spending Labor Day at the lake, the beach, in the mountains, or somewhere close to home, we hope today gives you a little room to rest. ☀️

Labor Day began in New York City in 1882, when workers gathered for a parade and festival celebrating working people. More than 140 years later, it’s still a good excuse to slow down, enjoy the people around you, and take a breath before tomorrow’s routines return. 💛

Your Sunday uniform for this Sunday is already decided: rep your team. 🏈

Tailgate Sunday is coming to Decatur City! Vernon Gordon will be speaking during our one service at 9:15 AM, sharing a message about fear connected to his new book. Afterward, we’ll head outside for a Tailgate on the Lawn with DAS. Barbecue, wings, chips, and plenty of reasons to stick around. Bring your home team and wear your favorite team jersey.

If you’ve been in the room, you know what this feels like. 🙌

The moment when the noise from the workweek, the running list of things your kids need, the emails waiting for you, and everything else competing for your attention gets quiet for a few minutes.

Just a moment to focus on you and your Heavenly Father.

Seven baptisms.
A lot of singing.
And one Sunday night we won’t forget anytime soon. 🙌💛

Night of Worship last Sunday gave us the chance to celebrate our church publicly taking steps in their faith right in the middle of everything else happening in the room.

Pretty special way to spend a Sunday night.

Sunday for them: a craft they’ll insist comes home with you, a question they actually want to answer, a game they’ll explain in the car, and leaders who are genuinely glad they showed up. 💛

Waumba Land meets during both Sunday services at 9:15 and 11:15 AM.

A moment from Night of Worship this past Sunday. 🙌🎶

We loved getting to spend the evening worshipping together, and we’re already looking forward to being back in the room this Sunday.

Andy Stanley is wrapping up "Everyday Courage" with part four, and we’d love to see you there!

We learned “Way Maker” together a couple weeks ago, then sang it again at Night of Worship. 💛

One lyric has stayed with us: “Even when I don’t see it, You’re working.”

Faith doesn’t always come with a clear explanation or an immediate answer. Sometimes it looks like trusting that God is still present and working in the parts of our lives that feel unresolved.

What lyric from this song has stayed with you?

We’re gathering for ONE service at 9:15 AM, then taking the fun outside for a tailgate on the lawn.

Middle school is its own world. So on Sunday mornings, middle schoolers get a space that feels like theirs.

This past month, students have been learning the difference between real and fake friends, and that finding great friends starts with becoming one.

At Transit, the music gets loud, the teaching speaks to real life, and sixth, seventh, and eighth graders spend the morning together.

Transit meets Sundays at 11:15 AM. You can learn more about our middle school environment by heading to https://decaturcity.org/transit. If there’s a middle schooler in your life, send this their way. 🌀
