Dear brothers and sisters,

As many of you know, Billy and Andrew Cagle’s apartment caught fire last night. Praise the Lord - no one was injured!

Andrew has been blown away by the outpouring of love and generosity he’s already received. Thank you!! At this time, he’s not aware of any immediate or pressing needs. He’s already received a care package, and he has a new place to stay. They’re also working with insurance.

Here’s what you can do:
- Pray. Prayer is not the same thing as doing nothing.
- Send him some encouragement. Let him know you love him and are praying for him (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

Let’s remember Galatians 6:10 as we love our brother, “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

Dear Glory Community Church,

After our fire two years ago, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to write you any more letters informing you of something awful that had occurred during the previous night. Alas, the Lord had other plans!

Last night our church building was broken into. Nearly everything of earthly value was stolen. As discouraging as this may feel at first blush, we can take heart knowing that nothing of eternal value can be taken from us by thieves, Satan, or any other earthly power! The most important possessions of our church are not earthly goods, but our God and his gospel.

At this point, there’s not much for you to do other than pray. Here are some things you can be praying for over the coming days.

First, pray for those who committed this heinous crime. They have acted against the people of God by stealing from the church of God, which means they sit in a place of especially fearful judgment. Let’s pray first and foremost for the salvation of their souls. The same God who turned Paul the persecutor into a missionary can certainly save and use these corrupt men. As a matter of fact, it’s his modus operandi. (1 Cor 6:9-11)

Secondly pray for justice to be done. That the evildoers will be found and given justice according to the standards of righteousness (Rom 13:1-7).

Third, please pray that our equipment (musical, sound, laptops, etc.) is found and returned. Our God is the God of the miraculous deliverance of his people, including the things needed to serve him faithfully (Phil 4:19).

Finally, pray for our congregation, that we would rejoice, being found worthy to suffer for the name (Acts 5:41).

Through many trials, toils, and snares, we press on.

Dear brothers and sisters,

We will hold a short and sweet Members’ Meeting on the building project following the service on November 9th. The regular service will be a few minutes shorter so that we can have a brief meeting before lunch. Please prioritize this meeting so we can be of one mind and spend time in prayer together.
