Vacation Bible School is in full swing. On Monday, we learned that with God's help we can be brave like Queen Esther. Tuesday, we learned that we can trust God and give our all like the widow who shared her two coins.

In addition to scripture, worship, prayer, and games, each Sunday our Ambassadors lend their hand to a meaningful mission project. This Sunday they whipped up some cookies for our FUMC preschool teachers. 🍪

Friends of FUMC Decatur,

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus! Due to the extreme likelihood of inclement weather and dangerous travel conditions, all worship services and other ministry events scheduled for this Sunday, Jan. 25th, have been canceled.

We believe that corporate worship and Christian community are absolutely essential to the life of believers; nonetheless, we believe the best way to love our neighbors in this case is to encourage one another to stay safely off of dangerous roads until the ice has cleared.

The planned reception for our retiring music ministry friends Lynda Trow, Kathy Sisk, and Michael Bond has been rescheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1st, at noon.

Stay safe, friends. Check on one another. Look out for one another. Above all, pray for the safety of all who are out in the cold.

Your brother in Christ,

Rev. Dr. Nick McRae
Senior Pastor, First United Methodist Church of Decatur
