Today our youth group is heading to Blacksburg for CBF Virginia Mission Madness!

CBF Advocacy in Action conference was such a fulfilling and informative experience. In our short time there, we learned about deeply important issues that are affecting people around the world and what CBF’s partners are faithfully doing every day to confront those issues, including advocating for religious liberty, advocating for fair and responsible lending, and advocating for the end of world hunger. We also took time to discuss and reflect on issues such as immigration and the border and refugee crisis, learning from CBF field personnel .rb. Lastly, we were able to practice advocacy through political engagement, speaking with our own state representatives on the issues that affect our local communities. Thank you to the office of for opening your door and hearing our voices.

This week we did a little bit of talking and A LOT of listening. Advocacy is not about giving a voice to the “voiceless.” We all were given a voice. It’s about passing the microphone to those whose voices have been silenced by society, and making sure their voices and basic human needs speak volumes.
