Our traditional worship services follow a traditional format and structure. Each service includes deacons who collect the offering and serve communion, elders who receive the offering and lead the communion, and a lay member liturgist. Our contemporary worship service includes a praise band with more modern Christian music. This service is more casual in nature. All of the worship services are on Sunday and communion is served every service.

Welcome New Member!
With joy and thanksgiving, we welcome Troy Kinney to the Central family! Troy and his wife Kim have been attending Central regularly for the past year. They were married at Central in 2015 and since they began attending last Fall, Troy has been beoming more and more active. He has attended newcomer events, the Fathers and Sons men’s group last winter, the men’s discussion groups this summer and hosted a men’s evening at his house. He and Kim primarily attend the contemporary service, and Troy joined the church at that service this past Sunday! Welcome Troy!

Pictorial Directory Auxiliary Group Photos
In addition to having household portraits of Central’s members and friends in our new pictorial directory, we are also hoping to have the space to add group photos of some of our service, fellowship and study groups (for example our praise band and chancel choir). This is an opportunity for others in the community to know how they can connect with the work your groups is doing. If you are part of such a group and would like to have your group portrait in the directory, we will do our best to include it. We are asking you to organize your own group photo and then submit the picture to us electronically ([email protected]). Please do this as soon as you are able.

Fall Sunday School
We will begin our Fall Sunday School this coming Sunday, September 6. All children and youth - 4 year olds – High School are welcome. To kick off the Fall season, we will meet for a combined session in the Disciples Room. On Sunday, September 13, our classes will meet upstairs in the Sunday School wing. We have classes for 4 year olds-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grades, and 6th–12th grades.
We meet each Sunday of the month from 9:30-10:15, except for the last Sunday, when children and youth stay in worship with their families.
We hope you will come and enjoy the fun activities planned around Bible stories as we grow in our faith.

Let's Feed Our Neighbors Central Christian -
The WSOY Food Drive is Coming!
Right here in Macon County, 15% of households struggle with food insecurity — and the fastest-growing group turning to food pantries are working families; people who have jobs but still can't make ends meet. As a church family, we're called to love our neighbor, and this is a simple, tangible way to do it. Here’s how you can help:
• Take a bag, fill a bag. Starting Sunday, September 6, grab a grocery bag from the church and fill it with non-perishable food items.
• Bring the bag back to Central Christian on any of these three Sundays in September: the 13th, 20th, or 27th. Canned fruits, veggies, meats, beans, soups and sauces (avoid glass); pasta, rice, cereals, oatmeal, boxed meals, instant potatoes, mac and cheese; granola bars, trail mix, jerky, beef sticks, dried fruit, peanut butter, jelly are all needed items.
• Prefer to give financially? Financial support is greatly appreciated. Every $5 provides a meal for a family in need. Visit www.WSOYfooddrive.com to make a cash donation.
• All donations support the WSOY Food Drive on October 2nd at the airport Kroger.
We will take care of transporting all the bags collected by Central to the airport Kroger on October 2. Thank you in advance for your participation and support!

Dorcas Disciples Are “Collecting” All Women!
All Central women are invited to join in the fun of Dorcas Disciples’ first meeting of the 2026-2027 program year. We will gather in the Disciples Room on Tuesday, September 15th at 6:30 p.m. Bring a sample of your favorite collectible and share its story with your Central sisters. Enjoy yummy snacks and fellowship while learning about the upcoming inspiring, programs and how you can help Dorcas Disciples continue its worthwhile ministry of service.
