Preparing Our Hearts for Easter

Reflection:
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of repentance, reflection, and renewal. The ashes we receive today remind us of our mortality and need for God's grace. It is a call to turn our hearts toward Him, not just through outward rituals but with sincere repentance and trust in His mercy.

As we embark on this 40-day journey toward Easter, let us examine our hearts. Are there sins we need to confess? Are there burdens we need to surrender? Are there ways we can draw closer to Jesus? This season is an opportunity to strip away distractions and focus on the hope of the cross and the victory of the resurrection.

Prayer:
Lord, as I begin this Lenten journey, help me to turn my heart fully to You. Reveal anything in me that needs to change, and fill me with Your grace. May this season draw me closer to Jesus, as I prepare to celebrate His resurrection with a renewed spirit. Amen.

Challenge:
Take time today to reflect on an area of your life that needs surrendering to God. Consider fasting from something that distracts you from Him and replace it with prayer, Scripture, or acts of service.

Let this Ash Wednesday be the start of a season of renewal as we prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter.
