Some weeks are heavy. Some weeks are light. St Paul is here for both. You don't need a good week to walk through these doors, you just need to walk through them.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith." (Ephesians 2:8)

Paul is writing to a church arguing over who was doing enough to earn their place, that's the conversation this verse interrupts. Grace, by his definition, was decided before any of that arguing started. You didn't work for it, and you can't lose it by falling short either, because it was never running on your performance to begin with.

This week's prayer thread is open. Who's on your heart? Comment if you're comfortable, or send us a message if you'd rather keep it private. Either way, we're praying.

GRACE ISN'T EARNED. IT'S GIVEN.

What does God's generosity look like when it doesn't match our definition of "fair"?

That's one of the questions waiting for us in tomorrow's readings.

In Jonah, we see God's compassion extended even when Jonah isn't happy about it. Psalm 145 reminds us that the Lord is gracious, compassionate, slow to anger, and rich in steadfast love. Paul calls us to live lives worthy of the gospel. And in Matthew, Jesus tells the story of workers who all receive the landowner's generosity, even though they didn't all work the same number of hours.

Different passages. One powerful reminder:

God's grace isn't something we earn by putting in more hours than somebody else. It flows from who God is.

Join us tomorrow at St. Paul Lutheran Church as we worship, learn, and grow together.

All are welcome.

Whatever's been sitting on you this week, worry, tiredness, a decision you can't make, you don't have to carry it alone until Sunday. God's attention doesn't run on a schedule, He's as present on a Tuesday afternoon as He is in a pew.

"Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)

This psalm pictures nations at war and mountains slipping into the sea, a few verses earlier, that's the actual scene 'be still' gets spoken into. Not a quiet room, chaos. So if this week already feels like too much is moving at once, that's exactly the kind of week this verse was written for.
