Have you ever had one of those times when the Holy Spirit brings to remembrance a situation and you hear the question in your soul "Did that bring glory to Jesus?" In that moment you experience the gut check, and the exhale of regret... Yes, that happened to me recently.
During our discussion time yesterday, I did not handle a question from Larry in a manner that brought glory to Jesus. In fact, my reaction and exchange was quite the opposite. So much so, that I believe it requires me to publicly apologize to Larry for my response to his question. While my admonition was correct, my method of delivery was a bit terse for a brother. Larry. I will apologize in person next time i see you, but want to make sure this apology is in the public space. I was wrong in my terseness of reaction, and I apologize and seek your forgiveness.
As to my admonition, in the context of our discussion of takeaways, we must be able to discern what is important to the discussion, and what is a distraction that diverts our attention from the main theme or takeaway of that passage or verse. As a shameless plug. if you struggle with weeding through what's important to the understanding of a passage and what isn't, our Thursday night study is for you. We are at the beginning of a book called "How to read the Bible for all it's worth." We will work through those skills and many more. If your interested, let me know... we have two books left, and we are only on chapter 1 this week, so you won't have missed anything...
Peace to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
