It's easy to be overwhelmed by fear for many of us during this season. But don't let it get the best of you or take control of your life. And while it's wise for us to be taking serious precuationary measures we should also remember who is sovereign even in the midst of seeming chaos.

How do you feel about change?
-
Our perspective of God is always growing. It seems to be a progressive thing as we walk through different stages of life. Like any relationship, really.
Let's be clear. God doesn't change. Our perspective of Him does. How He's revealing Himself to us today does.
The question we need to ask ourselves is whether we are ready for change. Are we ready for God to speak to us in a new way? To teach us something new? To reveal something we couldn't understand before?

This past Sunday, we discussed one of the more challenging topics of our faith: taking up your cross.
-
We often try to avoid any opposition, shame, suffering, or even death-to-self type situations. Jesus embraced them. And by doing so, He turned the narrative of Death to one of Life.
Stop avoiding challenge and self-denial. It may be the most life-giving decision you make.

Traditional vs. Contemporary
-
To some, tradition can be seen like a cuss word and others find refuge within its familiarity. If you've been around the Rouge fam, you may have noticed we're not the most traditional of communities. But we do seek to recognize both the good and the potential danger of tradition. And even potential false perception we may have towards it. A tradition where the heart is absent is vanity. A tradition that sidesteps God, is evil. And many times, no matter how contemporary we may seem, our preferences can often become our new traditions.
Jesus challenged both the religious and His followers to make sure our hearts are connected to our lips. And our actions in worship are both genuine and pure, in Spirit and in truth.
