St. John's Lutheran Church-Deanville Texas

St. John's Lutheran Church-Deanville Texas St. John's is located at the corner of FM 60 and FM 111 in Deanville, TX. Mailing address: P.O. Box 38, Deanville, TX 77852. In June of 1910, the St. A. H.

John's Lutheran congregation was organized by Martin Weiderhold, John Seibert, Ernest Zwernemann, and John Luedke, Sr. with the help of Rev. Falkenberg. For the next seven years, the congregation worshipped in the old Deanville School building until enough money was raised to purchase land and build the new church next to the original Methodist Church. The formal dedication of the St. John's Luthe

ran Church took place in 1917 with the donation of the church bell that currently hangs in the new Lutheran Church built in 1966. The church established an adjacent cemetery in 1918. The congregation prospered and a new church building was erected here in 1966. The original bell, housed in a tower at this site, continued to herald the commencement of worship services. This congregation has played a vital role in the community's civic, social, and religious development.

Holy Trinity Sunday – May 31, 2026

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
– Matthew 28:19–20

This Sunday, we celebrate the Holy Trinity—
God the Father, our Creator…
God the Son, our Savior…
and God the Holy Spirit, our Guide.

Three in one.
Perfect in unity.
Present with us always.

And here’s the beautiful part…

Through Jesus, we are made holy too—
set apart, called, and sent with purpose.

Not because we have it all together…
but because He does.

We’ve been given a mission—
to share the Good News,
to love others well,
and to walk in faith knowing…

We are never alone.

💙 Come be encouraged. Come worship with us.
Bring your family, invite a friend—we’d love to see you.

✨ Midweek Prayer

Reminder… you are not doing this life alone.

Let’s pray.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Thank You for calling us and walking with us daily.

Help us to live with purpose this week—
to love others well and to share Your goodness.

Remind us in every moment…
You are with us. Always.

Amen. 🤍

Day of Pentecost – May 24, 2026

“If you are thirsty, come to me and drink… and you will have life-giving water flowing from deep inside you.”
– John 7:37–39

We celebrate Christmas.
We celebrate Easter.

But Pentecost… this is the day the Church came alive.

It’s the day the Holy Spirit was poured out—
filling ordinary people with extraordinary power,
uniting believers, and sending them out to share the Good News.

And that same promise is for us today.

If you’re feeling weary…
If you’re searching…
If something in your life feels a little dry…

Jesus says: “Come.”

Come and be filled.
Come and be renewed.
Come and experience the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit.

💙 We’d love for you to join us. Bring your family, invite a friend.

A huge thank you to the students and staff of Caldwell Junior High School for all your hard work during Big Event!

These students were such a blessing to St. John’s Lutheran Church. They cleaned windows, moved tables and chairs for our upcoming picnic, raked leaves from the flower beds, and picked up trash around our cemetery.

Not only were they hard working, but they were also respectful, kind, and smiling the whole time. What a joy it was to have them here serving alongside us!

Thank you for giving your time and energy to help care for our church grounds and community. We appreciate each and every one of you! 🤍

🔥 Midweek Prayer

Feeling a little worn down this week?

Let’s come back to the source.

Holy Spirit,
Fill us fresh today.

When we feel empty,
draw us back to Jesus—the source of living water.

Renew our hearts, strengthen our faith,
and help us live boldly for You.

Let Your presence flow through us,
bringing life and encouragement to those around us.

Amen. 🤍

👉 Take a moment to pray this today—and share it if someone comes to mind.

Seventh Sunday of Easter – May 17, 2026

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace… will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”
– 1 Peter 5:10

Life doesn’t come without challenges.
There are seasons that stretch us, test us, and leave us wondering if we’re enough.

The disciples felt it too—uncertain, overwhelmed, and facing a world that pushed back against everything they believed.

And yet… God didn’t leave them there.
And He doesn’t leave us there either.

He is the God of all grace—
the One who restores, strengthens, and establishes us.

Even in the hard seasons, He is working.
Even in the waiting, He is faithful.

Because of Jesus, we don’t walk through anything alone…
and we don’t walk without hope.

💙 Come be encouraged. Come worship with us.
Bring your family, invite a friend—we’d love to see you.

🌿 Midweek Prayer

Some weeks feel heavier than others…

If that’s you today, take a moment and breathe.

Lord God,
You are the God of all grace.

In the middle of life’s challenges,
remind us that You are restoring, strengthening, and holding us steady.

When we feel overwhelmed, help us lean into You and trust Your promises.

Thank You for walking with us through every season.

Amen. 🤍
