Hope Lutheran Church began with the direction of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s (ELCA) Division of Outreach. A search for temporary worship space began during this time. An agreement to use the Embry Riddle University Chapel was crea

ted in October of 1996, and opening worship was on November 24th, with 94 people in attendance. The charter of Hope Lutheran was opened on March 16, 1997. Forty-seven people signed the charter on that day. Hope Lutheran officially organized as a congregation of the ELCA in June 2000 with 98 members. A 6-acre parcel of land was purchased in the fall of 1998. Construction of Hope's 5,200 square foot church building began in January of 2007, and was completed in October of 2007.

I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR

I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

Refrain:
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.

I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.

I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.

I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessèd Son.

Our faith is most visible not in the words we speak, but in the way we love the people God places in front of us.

It's easy to say we trust Jesus. The greater invitation is to reflect Him—with patience when it's difficult, forgiveness when it's undeserved, kindness when no one is watching, and grace when it's least expected.

Every interaction is an opportunity to become a little more like Christ. Sometimes the most powerful sermon we will ever preach is simply the way we treat others.

May our lives point people to Jesus long before our words ever do.

If these quiet reflections encourage your walk with Christ, we'd love to have you join our free weekly devotional. Every week, we share Scripture and thoughtful encouragement to help you grow in faith, love others well, and become more like Jesus in the everyday moments of life. You can join through the link in our bio.

Healing does not make the past good, but it can make us more compassionate toward someone walking a familiar road. God comforts us so we can comfort others (2 Corinthians 1:3–4).

SITTING AT THE FEET OF JESUS

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Oh, what words I hear Him say!
Happy place! so near, so precious!
May it find me there each day.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
I would look upon the past;
For His love has been so gracious,
It has won my heart at last.

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Where can mortal be more blest?
There I lay my sins and sorrows
And, when weary, find sweet rest.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
There I love to weep and pray,
While I from His fullness gather
Grace and comfort every day.

Bless me, O my Savior, bless me,
As I sit low at Thy feet.
Oh, look down in love upon me;
Let me see Thy face so sweet.
Give me, Lord, the mind of Jesus;
Make me holy as He is.
May I prove I’ve been with Jesus,
Who is all my righteousness.
