We have had an eventful week and want to share what to expect as you come to worship this Sabbath and in the coming months. Tuesday afternoon a trash truck came onto our property to turn around and drove under the church entrance overhang. It was not able to clear the beams and caused significant damage to the second beam and the areas it was anchored on both sides. The damage is such that the city building inspector has determined our main entrance is unsafe for use. You will notice that there are areas outside blocked off for safety, and some inside that are blocked to make sure we have fire exits available.
When you arrive, you will be entering through the school hall entrance for our Sabbath Worship Service in the gym. All of our usual Sabbath School classes will be able to meet, and we will provide directions after the worship service to help you find your way. Come prepared for surprises as we adapt and adjust together.
We believe that we will be able to set up a livestream for Facebook and YouTube, but are not sure if that will be possible for Sabbath, August 8. If you are unable to find us live online, please know we will be working to restore this important ministry as fast as we can.
We have much to be thankful for because there were no injuries, the school will be able to open and operate as usual, and the expenses will be covered by insurance.
Some of the wonderful things about following Jesus are that we may worship, fellowship, and study from anywhere and in any situation. We are in a season of waiting, and we are people of waiting for Jesus to come. We hope you can join us in seeing the gift in the unexpected waits. The Psalmist says in Psalm 27:14, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord.”
