Spotlight Course: Survey of the Old Testament: Part II. Focus on the Prophetic Books and the Books of the Prophet

INSTRUCTOR: Rev. Dr. Camille Still

I. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course intends to provide an understanding of God and God's redemptive work. This study explores the literary, historical, and theological issues pertinent to each Old Testament book and the Old Testament as whole.

II. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Participants will become familiar with the background information, purpose and message, structure and organization, and major themes of the Old Testament.

2. Participants will also explore issue of interpretation, geography, archaeology, ancient Near East history, formation of the Old Testament canon, and the Old Testament’s relationship to the New Testament.

“Ministry in the City, Asset Base Strategies for Faith Communities”
Tuesdays at 6:15 pm until 8:15 pm
(weekly for 10 weeks)

Calling all Pastors, Ministers and Leaders of the Faith based community who are looking for ways to ignite, engage, and support the community-building efforts of their neighbors.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is intended to inspire congregations to identify and mobilize the gifts of their own members as well as to encourage each congregation to take its place as one among many associations and institutions in its own local community. It does so by providing examples of institutional and denominational innovation and creativity, both within the church and within the community.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Pastor Damon Lynch, III has been the proud Pastor of New Prospect Baptist Church in Roselawn for 30 years. He is a lifetime resident of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the President and CEO of Community Economic Advancement Initiative (CEAI) and continues to be a champion for other community organizations, including Collaborative Agreement Refresh, AMOS Project, Op**te Coalition of Hamilton County, Strive Partnership, CEG, Common Good and many more. Pastor Lynch III enthusiastically believes that the church is the Village Well that is essential to all life in the community.
