Addiction is a straightforward topic. Overcoming it isn't about mastering our flesh; as children of God, we are called to crucify it. Faith empowers us to obey; through Him, we find hope and peace that surpasses all understanding.
You can't cast out your flesh, and you cannot crucify a demon. Stop trying to cast out what has to be killed. Go in your prayer closet and Die daily to yourself because until you die, you cannot live.
• God never said to follow 12 steps or any steps to a better life. This is a call to repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ's salvation is necessary!

The world will try to influence you to engage in drinking and using drugs, which often leads to drunkenness and debauchery.
There is a war for our souls. We must abstain from sinful desires that wage war against our souls.
• WE, AS FOLLOWERS OF JESUS CHRIST, ARE CALLED TO ABSTAIN FROM SINFUL DESIRES, PASSIONS AND LUSTFUL DESIRES.
We each have souls, and these sinful desires—though they may seem harmless—actively wage war against us. If we do not fight against them, they can cause serious harm. This is why it is crucial to abstain from the passions of the flesh.
Do not give in. As saved and holy people in Christ, we should "just say no" to the desire of sin. With the help of Holy Ghost we can overcome our fleshly issues. -Jaime Davis
