Living Beatitudes Community: A Ministry of Dignity Dayton

Living Beatitudes Community: A Ministry of Dignity Dayton LBC is a group of caring Christians who worship and work together for social justice. The beatitudes are found at Matthew 5: 3-12.

Living Beatitudes Community - A ministry of Dignity Dayton, a chapter of Dignity/USA, is a diverse faith community from the Catholic tradition. The chapter actively contributes to Dignity/USA’s goals of respect and justice for GLBT persons within the Catholic Church and the world. The Living Beatitudes Community is a group of friendly and caring Christians who gather to worship together, work toge

ther, and live our lives in emulation of the Spirit of the Beatitudes. We are a welcoming and diverse spiritual community with weekly services that celebrate the freedom of the people of God and the dignity of people of all sexual orientations, genders, races and creeds. What are “beatitudes?" The Latin word for blessed is beatus, from which we get “beatitude.” The beatitudes are eight statements of the values taught by Jesus. We believe that these values, if followed, can bring a believer internal peace and demonstrate our kinship as humans [aka the Kin-dom of God]. Dignity Dayton provides a welcoming, accepting worship environment for all persons. Dignity Dayton offers a weekly Mass for members and guests. Dignity celebrations emphasize the full inclusion of women and people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Mass follows the structure of the Catholic liturgy. Dignity Dayton celebrates the freedom of the people of God and the dignity of people of all genders, races, and creeds. Mass: Sunday, 10:00 a.m.

"When you are happy, go to the one you love. When you are sad, go to the one who loves you." Rumi

Don’t preach to me.
Don’t throw scripture like a shield while turning your back on suffering.
Don’t lecture me with psalms while defending the powerful and ignoring the oppressed.

Show me.
Show me in how you treat people who have nothing to offer you.
Show me in how you speak up when it’s uncomfortable, and stand firm when silence is easy.
Show me that your God walks with the poor, the wounded, the silenced — not just the saved.

Faith without justice is empty noise.
Holiness without compassion is just ego in a robe.
If you say yes to God, then say no — loudly — to everything that breaks what God loves: people, truth, peace, and dignity.

Don’t tell me what you believe.
Live it.

Let’s call this what it is: Heresy. Blasphemy. Idolatry.

And if you truly follow Jesus, it should grieve your spirit.

So I have one question for the Evangelicals who prop him up as God’s chosen:
What are the fruits of Trump’s so-called “mission from God”?

📍 His Christian example?
- Found liable for r**e
- Incited a violent insurrection
- 34 felony charges
- Two impeachments
- Hush money to a p**n star
- 30,000+ documented lies during his first term
... and claimed he's never needed repentance.

📍 His Biblical knowledge?
- Asked his favorite Bible verse—couldn't provide one.
- Publicly quoted “Two Corinthians”
- Once held a Bible upside down for a photo-op he tear-gassed peaceful protesters in order to take
- Has compared himself to Jesus.
... That’s not reverence. That’s religious cosplay.

📍 His Christlike posture?
- Called veterans “losers” and “suckers”
- Mocked a disabled reporter
- Publicly belittles those who disagree
- Called political opponents “vermin”, journalists “enemies of the people”
- Openly fantasized about executing generals
- Said immigrants were “poisoning the blood of our country”
... no humility, no mercy, no grace—just cruelty wrapped in a red hat.

📍 His policies?
- Cut food assistance to millions of low-income families
- Fought to remove healthcare from the sick and poor
- Built cages to separate children from their parents
- Blocked refugees and asylum seekers
- Handed billions to the wealthy while leaving the vulnerable behind
...these aren’t policies rooted in the teachings of Jesus. They’re in direct opposition to them.

And let’s not forget John 13:35—“By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Is “love” a word people associate with Donald Trump?

What fruit is Donald Trump known for?
Because Jesus said: “By their fruit you will recognize them.” (Matthew 7:16)

And yet, too many Christians devour this rotten fruit like it’s manna from Heaven.

And the Church needs to stop dancing around this and call this out.
This isn’t a mission from God. It’s a golden calf on a campaign tour.
