Living Beatitudes Community - A ministry of Dignity Dayton, a chapter of Dignity/USA, is a diverse faith community from the Catholic tradition. The chapter actively contributes to Dignity/USA’s goals of respect and justice for GLBT persons within the Catholic Church and the world. The Living Beatitudes Community is a group of friendly and caring Christians who gather to worship together, work toge
ther, and live our lives in emulation of the Spirit of the Beatitudes. We are a welcoming and diverse spiritual community with weekly services that celebrate the freedom of the people of God and the dignity of people of all sexual orientations, genders, races and creeds. What are “beatitudes?" The Latin word for blessed is beatus, from which we get “beatitude.” The beatitudes are eight statements of the values taught by Jesus. We believe that these values, if followed, can bring a believer internal peace and demonstrate our kinship as humans [aka the Kin-dom of God]. Dignity Dayton provides a welcoming, accepting worship environment for all persons. Dignity Dayton offers a weekly Mass for members and guests. Dignity celebrations emphasize the full inclusion of women and people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Mass follows the structure of the Catholic liturgy. Dignity Dayton celebrates the freedom of the people of God and the dignity of people of all genders, races, and creeds. Mass: Sunday, 10:00 a.m.
