Feed the Team Friday.

One of my favorite things about doing this each year is getting to watch these young men grow and mature. You see the difference from year to year, not just as football players, but in the way they carry themselves, treat each other, and become leaders.

And yes, real men hold hands around the table and pray together.

There’s something pretty special about seeing an entire football team bow their heads, lock hands, and thank God before they eat and before they take the field.

Lord, bless these boys as they take on Tipp City at home tonight. Keep both teams, coaches, officials, and everyone involved safe and healthy, especially with this crazy heat we’ve had. Give them the strength to compete hard, play for each other, and walk off that field healthy when it’s over.

Proud of these boys. Go Skyhawks!

Week 2 of 10 feeding our hometown team before Friday night football!

This week, we partnered with Veronas Pizza here in Fairborn to make sure the Fairborn football team was fueled up before hitting the road for tonight’s game against Sidney.

And they definitely didn’t go hungry. 9 trays of ravioli, plus salad and rolls for the team before making the hour-long trip to Sidney.

A huge thank you to everyone at Verona’s Pizza for working tirelessly to get everything prepared and to us on time before the team had to head out. We’re grateful to have local businesses willing to step up and help us take care of these kids each week.

Two weeks down, eight to go.

For the fourth year in a row, we have the privilege of feeding the Fairborn Football team every Friday before they take the field that night.

We’re incredibly thankful to Coach Cox for continuing to give us this kind of access to these young men. Yes, we’re there to provide a meal, but it’s become about so much more than food. It’s an opportunity to show up consistently, build relationships, encourage them, and pour into our kids before they go out and represent their school and community.

Coach always reminds the team how blessed they are to have people willing to provide a meal for them each week. But every time he says it, I can’t help but think we’re the ones who are blessed.

We get to do this because of the generosity of our church members and the support of this community. Four years later, we still don’t take that opportunity for granted.

Thank you, Coach Cox, for trusting us. Thank you to everyone who gives, serves, cooks, delivers, and makes these Fridays possible.

We’re blessed to be able to serve these kids, and we’re excited for another season. 🏈
