Just as God offered us grace (unmerited favor) and forgiveness (complete and continual), he enables us to forgive others, ourselves, and Him because he wants to set us free and remove obstacles to connection ❤️.

Part of our defense mechanism is to attempt to stay in control by any means necessary. We may even “get even” by harboring resentment, judging, staying angry and guarded, and by using all of this as leverage to prevent further harm.

*Important*...when we are wounded the effects can create a domino effect.
So, forgiveness needs to address the initial event *and* the lasting consequences even if they are a result of our own choices.

The person we often forget to forgive is ourselves.
We need to be relieved of the guilt, accusations, self-blame, and shame.
Our identity is in Christ!
God has deemed you worthy of forgiveness.
Don’t withhold it.
Accept this gift 💝.

Forgiveness is messy.
It is by no means simple or easy.
However, when we let go we are able to receive our life changing miracles.
Our perspective changes.
We begin to heal.
And we can help others, too.
If you need help with this journey, we are here for you. 🤍

Just as Christ died and was resurrected we are made new. We can declare that only God has permission to tell us who we are!

We receive this truth and reject the old lies that try to creep in.

We gratefully receive our new identity and continue to grow in relationship with Him ❤️.

We come into this world with no concept of God.
It is formed over time as we are influenced by parents, authority figures, our church community, or religious concepts.

It is life giving to examine who or what has influenced our concept of God and whether this view of Him is distorted and affecting our desire to connect with Him, or not.

Based on the truths we’ve discussed it is time to deal with God as He makes our hearts and lives new again.

If sharing Christ with someone they will need ongoing support on an individual basis, from healthy teachings, and group support.
We aren’t made to do life alone. 🤝

Preparing them to be aware of the devil’s discouragement and temptations is essential.
But, *never fear* because God said “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?””
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:5b-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Even our faith is a gift of God. If you are reaching out to take Christ and ready to have him as your Savior and personal treasure you are being made alive and born again. 🙌🏼

Our lives, our salvation stories, are miraculous.

Tell God what is on your heart, trust him, speak to him, declare your faith to Him, welcome him as your friend ❤️.

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:4-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is the heart of everything. We’ve shared who God is and what sin does to us.

God sent his divine, eternal Son to bear the punishment we deserve. This is glorious news!

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“No more guilt, no more punishment, no more wrath, no more condemnation. Eternal life, peace with God forever.”
John Piper
