Sometimes we only say, “Thank You, Lord” when something big happens.

When prayers are answered. When life feels lighter. When the blessing is easy to see.

But God is also present in the small things we often ignore.

A simple meal.
A safe home.
A normal day.
Strength to work.
Waking up again this morning.

They may feel ordinary, but they are still gifts from His love and care.

And maybe May was not perfect, but God still provided. He still carried us. He still gave us reasons to be grateful.

When we start noticing the small blessings, we realize God has been faithful all along, even in the quiet and simple moments.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

So before this month ends, let’s normalize saying, “Thank You, Lord” even for the small things.

Because nothing is too small when it comes from Him. 🙇🏻🤍

In Genesis 6:14, God instructed Noah to “pitch it within and without with pitch,” referring to the Ark. This pitch was a sticky, waterproof substance, likely either tree resin or natural bitumen, used to seal the massive wooden structure from leaks during the global Flood. It was applied both inside and out, ensuring total protection against the waters that would cover the earth. This was not just a construction detail. It was a critical component for survival. Without pitch, the Ark would have been vulnerable to water damage, rot, and sinking. God, as the ultimate Designer, provided every detail needed for preservation in a cataclysmic event.

More than its practical use, pitch carries powerful spiritual symbolism. The Hebrew word for pitch, kopher, is related to the word for atonement or covering. Just as pitch covered and sealed the Ark, shielding Noah and his family from judgment, so too does the blood of Christ cover and seal believers from the judgment of sin. The Ark is a picture of salvation, and pitch is a symbol of the covering grace of God. It reminds us that just as Noah was saved by obedience and God’s provision, we too are saved by trusting in the atoning work of our Savior.
