Exciting Announcement!

We are truly delighted to share the news that Rabbi Charles Briskin has been hired as the Interim Rabbi of Congregation Bet Haverim.

This moment marks an important milestone in our community’s journey. Over the past many months, we have come together with care, thoughtfulness, and deep commitment to reflect on who we are and to envision the next chapter of CBH. Through that process, it became clear that Rabbi Briskin is the right person to help guide, support, and inspire our community in the year ahead.

Rabbi Briskin and his wife, Karen, will officially join us in Davis on July 1st. We look forward to welcoming them and their grown children, Ezra and Avi, into our community.

We also invite you to join us for Bagels with the Board, an opportunity to connect with members of the CBH Board of Directors, share your thoughts on important and timely topics, and spend time in community together. The gathering will take place in the Social Hall on Thursday, April 23rd at 11:00am. We hope to see you there.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Rabbi Briskin and his family to the CBH community. We feel a deep sense of gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead, and we look forward to learning, growing, and building together in this new chapter.

L’Shalom,
The CBH Board of Directors

We mourn the senseless and unconscionable murders of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, two employees of the Israeli Embassy who were murdered after attending an event in Washington, DC. There are no words that can make sense of their young lives being cut short a week before their planned engagement, by an assailant who, despite not even knowing their names, took their lives. As the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism wrote, “Murdering Jews is not an act of freedom fighting; it is an act of terror that should prompt condemnation by people of conscience across the political spectrum.”

We welcome the community to join together tomorrow evening at CBH at 6:00pm for a memorial vigil prior to Shabbat services beginning at 6:30pm.

May their memories be for a blessing and may their loved ones find comfort among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
