WE EXIST TO SEE SHATTERED LIVES RESTORED WITH THE GRACE AND TRUTH OF JESUS
We are a diverse community of people brought together by our common desire to simply follow Jesus, without a lot of man-made religious traditions and trappings. Because we live in a little town and this is a new church, we are still a small group…but we serve a big God who wants to reach as many as possible. We expect to c
ontinue making new friends here in the Lake Norman area, without losing track of all the friends and family we already know and love. That’s why our church vision includes the use of video and audio resources that go across geographic boundaries. If you can’t be here in person, we want to connect our living room to yours since, after all, the church is not a place, but a people. There is an old proverb that says “A man in a Glass House should not throw stones.”
In the New Testament book of John, chapter 8, we see Jesus restoring a shattered life through grace and truth. A woman was caught in the very act of adultery, a sin punishable in those days by being battered to death with large rocks. Jesus told the condemning crowd who stood ready to pass judgement, “the one without sin should cast the first stone.” One by one her accusers dropped their rocks and walked away in silence as they saw they were just as guilty of their sins as she was of hers. The best part of this story comes when Jesus is left alone with the woman and tells her “Neither do I condemn you…now go leave your life of sin.”
What a balance! That’s what GlassHouse Church means to us. WHO IS PASTOR SCOTT CLAUNCH? Scott is just a fellow follower of Jesus who happens to have a God-given knack for teaching the Bible in ways that people can understand, remember, and apply to their lives. For the last eight years, Scott served as an associate pastor at Calvary Chapel of Kendall. He also hosted a live weekly radio show called Talk About It! on 90.9 LIFE FM in Miami that gave listeners the opportunity to call in with Biblical questions. Scott and his wife Lynn have enjoyed 24 years together and look forward to many more. They have three wonderful children (but do not look forward to many more!) They also have a dog named Grace.
