10:00AM Outdoor Worship on June 14th

Today's service will be outside at 10:00 a.m. and will be livestreamed to Facebook only. Free childcare is provided.

Bring camp chairs or blankets to sit on the lawn. We will have about 100 folding chairs for those who do not have chairs and blankets.

Peter Henry will be preaching his sermon, entitled "Seeing Stars," based on Matthew 9:35-10:4 and Genesis 15:1-21.

The music will be provided by David Brinson, Sarah Lynch, the Music Team, and the Summer Choir.

Congregational Meeting: The Session has called a congregational meeting for today at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Sanctuary in order to act upon the report of the Nominating Committee regarding Elder and Deacon nominees for the class of 2029 and also to fill one vacancy in the Elder class of 2026. Sunday School Classes for Adults meet at 9:00 a.m.:

DCPC Reads - Join John Ryan and others on to discuss Rev. MaryAnn McKibben Dana’s new book Better Than Normal: Virtues for an Off-Script Life. This class will meet June 14th, 21st, and 28th at 9:00 a.m. in the Parlor. Books can be bought at Main Street Books and on Amazon. You can register here.

The music ministry is just as busy in the summer as it is during the program year. We have summer choir and music camps as well as a library project. Special thanks to all those who continue to participate in our fabulous music ministry in the summer especially those who have come out to help with the music library project.

Yesterday in worship, guest preacher, The Rev. Dr. Peter Bynum, reminded us that we are not our resume. "Your worth in God's eyes cannot be captured in a single page. Precious seeds have been planted in your life - seeds that are still waiting to emerge. And God, who knows where every single one of those seeds is buried, is actively working in the soil of your spirit to protect those seeds, to preserve those seeds, and to give them room to grow. And that is what your life really is... A wild, messy, beautiful, work in progress. A garden of love that can never die. Amen.

The 10:00 a.m. (remember- 10:00 a.m. only during the summer months) worship service will be in person in our Sanctuary and also live-streamed to Facebook and YouTube including a Live Chat feature. Free childcare is provided.

Peter Bynum will be preaching his sermon, entitled "The Indestructible Garden," based on Genesis 2:4-9 and Romans 8:31-39. Communion will be served.

Our Guest Preacher - Every year during Davidson College’s reunion weekend, DCPC hosts a Davidson graduate who is an ordained pastor. This Sunday we welcome the Rev. Dr. Peter Bynum, the senior minister of Larchmont Avenue Church in Larchmont, New York. He is a 1991 graduate of Davidson College, and a 1996 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. After 10 years practicing real-estate law, his commitment to lay ministry deepened, and Peter sensed God’s call to full-time service in the church. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA (2009) and later earned a Doctorate in Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2017. Peter and his wife Stephanie have two daughters, Molly (24) and Kate (20).

The music will be provided by David Brinson, Sarah Lynch, the Music Team, and the Summer Choir, as well as Karl Schwarz, Davidson class of 1976.
