DCPC was one of many communities of faith at a dinner in Mooresville, hosted by the Islamic Center of Lake Norman and held at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church. It was a wonderful evening of unity and community, celebrating our common call to love, mercy and neighborliness. A local rabbi, rector and imams, as well as our gracious emcees and other lay members of faith communities shared their perspectives and experiences. It might have been a first for our area, but hopefully not the last!

Today, there is a traditional 8:30 service in Lingle Chapel, an informal service at 9:30 in the Sanctuary, and a traditional service at 11:00 in the Sanctuary. All services are live-streamed to Facebook and YouTube including a Live Chat feature. The 11:00 service will air on WDAV (89.9 or WDAV.org). Free childcare is provided.

Peter Henry will be preaching his sermon, entitled "You Do You," based on Matthew 4:1-11 and Joshua 24:1-15. The music will be provided by David Brinson, the Geneva and Chancel Choirs, and the Music Team.

Sunday School for Adults meets at 9:45 a.m. 

Connections Class will meet in Room 216 where John Ryan will lead a discussion on Micah 6:6-8.

Covenant Class will meet in the Parlor and welcomes Ivan Mayerhofer, Associate Chaplain for Buddhist Programs at Davidson College, who will present on Mindfulness in Life.

Holland-Jubilee Class will meet in Room 201 where Donna Hatfield leads a two-week discussion on “Our Moral Vision for the Country.”

Maloney Class will meet in the McLandress Library. Gus Succop teaches on Joshua 24:1-15, Joshua serves God.

Pines Class will meet in the Living Room on the Pines campus. Bill Cockrill teaches on Joshua 24:1-15, Joshua serves God.

The Covenant Class welcomes Dr. Carol Quillen, retired president of National Historic Preservation Board, who will be teaching on Sunday, October 25th. The Covenant Class will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Congregation House that day.

DCPC Children's Ministry invites you to join us THIS Sunday, October 18th at 9:20 a.m. for worship and a Sunday School Open House!

Explore the church.
Childcare is open 8:15 a.m. to Noon for ages 0-6.
Please come to our 9:30 a.m. Worship Service in our Sanctuary.
Children (Birth through High School) are invited to Sunday School after the Moment for Children during worship - from 9:45-10:45 a.m. - while parents enjoy the remainder of the service.
After the worship service (10:30-11:00 a.m.) refreshments will be served in the Burris Gathering Space.

We have enjoyed partners Peter and Paul from our sister church in Kikuyu, Kenya for the last two weeks. They have led us in worship, have visited in our homes, have enjoyed meeting with some of our many small groups, have gotten to know the community, have learned about some of our local mission partners, and have even had a little time to play. We have appreciated your friendship, your prayers, and the love which you have brought from Sigona PCEA Church and the Sigona Presbyterian Academy. Thank you for the visit and may God bless your journey home. Mungu Awabariki!

Today, there is a traditional 8:30 service in Lingle Chapel, an informal service at 9:30 in the Sanctuary, and a traditional service at 11:00 in the Sanctuary. Peter Henry will be preaching his sermon, entitled "OMG," based on Matthew 5:17-20 and Exodus 19:3-7; 20:1-17. The music will be provided by David Brinson, the Geneva and Chancel Choirs, the Tower Ringers (bell choir), and the Music Team.

Sunday School Classes for all ages (children, youth, college students, and adults) start at 9:45 a.m. For more information, please contact Jenny Alexander, John Ryan, or Phaedra Smith.

Childcare and Preschool Sunday School are on the lower level. Elementary Sunday School is on the second floor and starts at 9:45 and ends at 10:45 a.m.

Youth:

Youth Group will meet this Sunday 5-6:30 p.m. in the Congregation House. Pizza for dinner!
