We feed others because Jesus fed others! September is Hunger Action Month and a great way to recommit to helping to reduce food insecurity in our communities. Here are some things you can do: Visit your local food pantry/bank and share some non-perishable food items or bring them to the church and we will deliver them for you. Some places take fresh produce so if you have that, call ahead and make a plan. Contact Nourish Up!, FeedNC, or Angels & Sparrows and see what volunteer opportunities they have. Write your elected representatives and advocate for our neighbors experiencing hunger. Print out the attached Calendar for other ideas about things to do each day of the month. And visit https://www.feedingamerica.org/take-action/hunger-action-month to learn more! Thanks for helping us reduce food insecurity!

Thank you to Scott Galloway and Daniel Heath for leading two special events this weekend: our first annual men's breakfast (Scott) and our annual hymn sing and ice cream social (Daniel). Among many takeaways from Scott was "...serving others starts with seeing them." Are you seeing the people around you? Actually seeing them? Daniel left us with these words: "“And perhaps that's one of the gifts of a hymn. For a few minutes, people who may have different histories, different experiences, different ages, different backgrounds, and even different ways of understanding the world breathe together, listen together, and sing the same words together. May we carry some of that harmony beyond this room.” By the way, you can catch one of Scott's films that he showed on Saturday here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Hfpo1TCcoE&list=PLxgaQv3XLiYqeI5x3uPC5eAQzIZQQdOrJ&index=6
