Grace is for all people, and we have a story to share.

Join Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Coppedge-Henley for a preview of “Davidson Forward,” our new sermon series inspired by the altar window at Davidson United Methodist Church.

This Sunday, we’ll explore Acts 10:34–43, where Peter crosses boundaries to share the good news of Jesus Christ and boldly declares that God shows no partiality. As we begin our stewardship campaign, we’ll consider what it means to be Christ’s witnesses in Davidson today and how our shared ministry can carry that message into the future.

Join us Sunday, October 25, as we take this next step together.

🎶 Music Tuesday | A Gift of Song

For Laura Hoye, one of her earliest memories of church music comes from second grade, when she and two classmates sang “I Come to the Garden Alone” at the funeral of their classmate, Douglas.

Before the service, the minister helped them understand the song’s meaning and the emotions they might feel. He also explained that their singing would be a gift to Douglas’s family and everyone gathered.

That experience continues to shape how Laura understands music in worship today.

“I realize the importance of unified voices singing together words from the scriptures. Church music has an impact on those present in a way that touches their hearts that only they can express.” 💛

Thank you, Laura, for reminding us how a gift of song can bring comfort, strengthen faith, and stay with us for a lifetime.

🌎 Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

Our Primetimers gathered today for lunch, fellowship, and a journey to faraway places with Charlotte Thomas! Her stories of adventure gave us a chance to explore the world together, right from the Fellowship Hall.

Thank you, Charlotte, for sharing your travels, and thanks to everyone who brought cereal to support Mooresville Christian Mission. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon together! 💛

📖 A special milestone for our Davidson UMC family!

Yesterday during worship, we celebrated our Third Grade Bible Presentation, placing God’s Word into the hands of our young readers. Families also gathered for cupcakes and fellowship to mark this meaningful day.

Join us in praying for these children as they explore Scripture, ask questions, and grow in their faith. May these Bibles remind them that they are loved by God and supported by their church family. 💛

Not all children who received a Bible are pictured.

"Take the Risk"
Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Coppedge-Henley | Matthew 25:14–30

What might fear be keeping us from doing with the gifts God has given us?

In “Take the Risk,” Pastor Elizabeth reminds us that God entrusts us with resources, time, and the good news of God’s love. Faithfulness means putting those gifts into action, even when it feels uncomfortable.

That includes loving neighbors whose beliefs and experiences differ from ours, standing beside people living in fear, and choosing kindness when silence feels easier.

God has trusted us with something precious. How will we share it?
