🌿 Church Family Spotlight: David & Paulette Castleberry 🌿

Originally from Georgia, David and Paulette have spent about 15 years in Davenport as snowbirds. They first connected with Living Hope back in the spring of 2020. During the uncertainty of COVID, they noticed that Living Hope remained open while many churches closed, and that decision made a lasting impact on them.

Now retired, they enjoy a slower pace of life filled with shopping trips, lunches out, movies, and spending quality time with friends.

Paulette shared that God has been teaching her more about what it truly means to have a personal relationship with Him, something that continues to deepen her faith journey.

When asked what they love most about Living Hope, their answer was simple and meaningful: “The pastor and the closeness of the congregation.”

One of the things we love about David and Paulette is their faithfulness and warmth. During a challenging season of life, David and Paulette have continued leaning on the Lord and experiencing the love and support of their church family in meaningful ways.

They’ve been part of the Living Hope family since those early days and have helped make our church feel like home for so many others along the way. ❤️

Every week, an amazing team of volunteers arrives early to brew fresh coffee, prepare snacks, and create an atmosphere that helps people feel at home before service even begins. If you’ve never taken a few extra minutes before service to slow down, grab a coffee, meet someone new, and enjoy the fellowship, we’d love to encourage you to come a little early this Sunday.

There’s something special about seeing a kid faithfully playing a well-used hand-me-down guitar in church on Sunday morning. It may not be shiny or expensive, but moments like this remind us that worship has never been about impressive instruments, it’s about willing hearts. Sometimes, the most meaningful things are the ones that have been lovingly used, passed down, and dedicated to serving the Lord.

🌿 Church Family Spotlight: Meet Karl & Irene 🌿

After moving to the area from Quebec, Canada in 2021, Karl & Irene and their five little ones began searching online for a local church while getting settled into their new home. Living Hope was nearby, so they decided to visit. What started as a simple Google search quickly became something much deeper.

Karl has spent more than 15 years self-employed in sales and management, and together they enjoy a life centered around faith, friendship, and community.

In this season of life, they shared that God has been teaching them humility and reminding them that He always provides. They also spoke about how much the love and support from their church family has meant to them during this transition. When asked what they love most about Living Hope, they said, “How close and tight we are as a church family and the preaching is biblical!”

Together, they enjoy walking outdoors, spending time in nature, playing board games, baking, pool time, and simply enjoying life with friends.

“There is more to Living Hope than what we first heard online. We have been welcomed, served, and prayed over. If you ever walk through the doors, don’t be shy to talk to anyone there. We all come from different walks of life.”

They shared how important that truth has been while being far away from family in Canada, knowing they are not alone because of the care and support found within the church family here.

So many people try to change life from the outside in; rules, pressure, behavior modification. God works from the inside out. When God changes your heart, it changes your priorities and desires.

In Nehemiah 10, the people stop giving God lip service and begin making real commitments. They decide their homes will live differently. They commit to obeying God’s Word, honoring Him with their rest, leading their families spiritually in a culture moving the opposite direction.

Join us for Mother's Day this Sunday as we also recognize the blessing from God that they are.

🌿 Church Family Spotlight: Meet Rosalee Walters 🌿

Rosalee is one of the newest additions to our church family. She came to Living Hope after hearing about us from a friend in her neighborhood, Citrus Ridge. We’re so glad she did.

Originally from Ohio, her story is full of life and movement. She spent 21 years as a proud USAF wife alongside her husband Roger while raising their two sons. Their journey took them across Europe for 15 years, followed by 14 more years traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada before finally settling in Florida in 2024.

Rosalee has spent her career teaching for the Department of Defense and volunteering in the USAF Chapel. These days, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing with a good puzzle.

In this current season, she shared that God is teaching her to lean on Him through a time of loss, a reminder that even in hard seasons, we’re never walking alone.

When asked what she loves most about Living Hope, her answer says a lot: “The people are friendly and kind.”

Rosalee loves bargain shopping, especially garage sales and Facebook Marketplace! In her free time, you’ll likely find her doing puzzles, catching up with friends, or hosting others for a meal.

And if you’re thinking about visiting Living Hope, Rosalee puts it simply: “You will feel at home.”

Her favorite verse right now is Colossians 3:23–24, a powerful reminder to do everything wholeheartedly as unto the Lord.
