Many who call themselves Christians place more faith in the weatherman's predictions than in Jesus.
Faith is something we act on. The weatherman says it's gonna rain, we take an umbrella or wear a rain coat. Jesus says to go out into all the world and proclaim His Gospel because time is short, and we find more ways to get comfortable here

For those who advocate self-care first, I would suggest that in the classic model of God first, spouse second, children third and others come after that the time with God IS self care. Material things will never satisfy or feed your soul the way spending quality time with God will. Placing God first will fill your needs so that you can feed into the rest.
