YOUTH / COLLEGE PASTOR FIX #2: The 3–2–1 Invite
If you want more students to actually show up, don’t rely on a stage announcement alone. Personal invites beat general announcements.

Here’s a simple rhythm that works because it’s clear and relational:
3 People — each leader chooses 3 students to invite
2 Touches — one text + one in-person (or DM + text)
1 Clear Ask — “Can you come with me this week?” (plus time + what to expect)

Text you can steal:
“Hey [Name]! I’d love for you to come this week. I’ll save you a seat. It’s [day/time] and we’re doing [what]. Want to come with me?”

Try it this week—comment INVITE if you do and tell us what changed. 🙌

Psalm 23 reminds leaders that God doesn’t just give direction—He gives refreshment. “He leads me beside quiet waters… He refreshes my soul.” That means your strength isn’t meant to come from adrenaline, pressure, or proving yourself. The Shepherd leads you into places where your soul can breathe again—where your pace slows, your perspective clears, and your heart gets re-centered. Leadership can drain you when you carry everything alone, but you were never called to lead disconnected from His presence. Today, let the Shepherd reset you. Follow His lead, trust His pace, and receive the refreshment that only He can give.

We would like to express sincere gratitude to Pea Ridge Baptist Church (Pea Ridge, Arkansas) for sending a mission team to serve at Dauphin Island Baptist Church’s Retreat & Mission Center (RMCC).

During their time with us, the team completed a significant amount of facility improvement work—electrical and plumbing projects, safety upgrades (including smoke detector battery replacements), painting, restoration after water intrusion, HVAC grille cleaning in the Worship Center, stairway repairs, and numerous other maintenance items that directly strengthen the ministry environment we steward.

Equally meaningful was the spirit in which they served: with humility, joy, and genuine Christlike care. Their presence was an encouragement to our leadership and a tangible reminder of the value of Kingdom partnership—churches strengthening churches through practical service and friendship.

We are deeply grateful for Pea Ridge Baptist Church’s investment and support. (More information: https://prfbc.org/)

On behalf of Dauphin Island Baptist Church, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Pea Ridge Baptist Church (Pea Ridge, Arkansas) for the incredible gift you gave us through your mission team.

The amount of work accomplished was truly remarkable—electrical and plumbing projects, replacing smoke detector batteries across our facilities, painting our game room, restoring areas impacted by water intrusion, cleaning A/C grilles in our Worship Center, repairing both the front and back stairways at our Retreat & Mission Center, and countless other projects that needed attention. Everywhere we turned, we saw evidence of skill, excellence, and servant-hearted commitment.

But what impacted us most wasn’t only what was done—it was who your team was while doing it. You served with joy, humility, kindness, and genuine Christlike love. You brought more than willing hands; you brought willing hearts. And personally, it was an especially refreshing time for our leadership—an encouragement we’ll carry for a long time.

Thank you for your friendship, your partnership, and your investment in our ministry. The improvements you made will serve our church family and RMCC guests for years to come. We’re deeply grateful.

Today, on Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives for our country—and we hold their families close in prayerful love and respect. Scripture gives us words for sacrifice: “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13) And it reminds us that honor is holy: “Give respect to whom respect is owed… honor to whom honor is owed.” (Romans 13:7) As we remember, may gratitude rise in us—and may we live with purpose, unity, and courage. We don’t take freedom lightly. We honor the fallen by living well, loving well, and leading with integrity.

Galatians 5:25 gives leaders a simple but powerful rhythm: “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” That means the goal isn’t just to be busy for God—it’s to be led by God. In leadership, it’s easy to run ahead in pressure, make decisions in hurry, or drift into “I’ll handle it” mode. But the Spirit isn’t asking you to sprint; He’s inviting you to walk—step by step, with sensitivity and trust. When you keep in step, you lead from peace instead of panic, from faith instead of fear, and from overflow instead of burnout. Today, before you move, pause and ask: Holy Spirit, what’s my next step? Then take it—steady, surrendered, and confident that His pace is always the right pace.

VOLUNTEER CULTURE BUILDER #2: The 3–2–1 Debrief

Healthy teams aren’t built by accident—they’re built by rhythm. Here’s a simple debrief you can do right after service (10 minutes) that strengthens culture fast:

3 Wins — celebrate what God did
2 Fixes — name what we can improve (no blame, just clarity)
1 Next Step — choose one action before next week (assign it + set a date)

Small habit. Big payoff: you honor people, learn quickly, and actually follow through.

Leadership pressure can quietly pull us off the path.

Isaiah 53:6 is a leadership mirror and a leadership mercy: we all drift—we leave God’s paths to follow our own. Leaders feel that pull even more because pressure can make us default to control, speed, and self-reliance. But the gospel isn’t that we found our way back—it’s that Jesus carried what we couldn’t: “the Lord laid on Him the sins of us all.” That means your leadership isn’t fueled by perfection; it’s sustained by grace. When you’ve wandered, when you’ve led out of fear, when you’ve missed it—don’t hide, don’t harden, don’t pretend. Return to Jesus. Let the cross realign your heart, and lead from a place of humility and freedom, because the Shepherd didn’t just point out the path—He took the weight of our wandering and brought us home.

John 5:24 is the kind of verse that resets a leader’s soul: whoever hears Jesus and believes has eternal life—not someday, but now—and has already passed from death to life. That means you’re not leading to earn God’s acceptance; you’re leading from a new identity that’s already secure in Him. When pressure rises, when criticism gets loud, when the to-do list feels heavier than your faith, remember: the most important thing about you isn’t your role, your results, or your reputation—it’s that you belong to Jesus. Leadership can slip into survival mode fast, but Jesus calls you back to life—real life—where peace replaces striving and purpose replaces fear. Lead from the overflow of what He’s already done in you, and let your leadership become a place others can breathe and believe again.

Easter Sunday reminds leaders where real courage comes from. Jesus was honest: “In this world you will have trouble.” Leadership will include pressure, uncertainty, and battles you can’t fix with strategy alone. But then He says, “Take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) The resurrection is God’s declaration that trouble doesn’t get the final word—Jesus does. Because He lives, peace isn’t a feeling you manufacture; it’s a confidence you receive in Him. So as you lead today, don’t let what’s hard define what’s true. Lead from the victory of Christ, with steady hope and the assurance that the One who overcame the grave is with you in every challenge.
