In addition to special offerings for UMCOR, our youth are collecting cleaning supplies, diapers, shovels, rubber gloves, towels, deodorant, combs and brushes, toothpaste and toothbrushes, socks and new underwear, baby wipes, shampoo (not conditioner), blankets (Walmart fleece—2.50), hand soaps, bug repellent for hurricane victims in Louisiana. Please have your items at the church no later than September 17. For pickup or information, please call Paula Goblowsky (504-451-7826) or Doc Davis (251-689-9003). DIUMC's REFUGE Youth are busy this Christmas Season! Our ministry to the flood victims in Louisiana continues with a toy drive! Please bring any new, unwrapped toys and place them under the tree in the Sanctuary or the Christ Life Center. And don't forget the CHRISTMAS PARTY this Sunday at 5:00 P.M.! And there's also the LOCK-IN New Year's Eve starting at 5:00 P.M.! Hope to see YOU there!

Here's a reminder from REFUGE! First, we're gathering supplies for one more trip to Louisiana THIS SUNDAY, October 16th. This trip, we're planning to take cases of water, paper towels, washcloths and towels, laundry detergent, baby or antibacterial wipes, diapers or pull-ups. If you can donate any of these items, please have them at the Christ Life Center by Friday, October 14, so we can load Saturday. Also, please remember to bring your favorite recipes to go in the Cookbook we're putting together for a Fundraiser! Please have them in by this Sunday, so that we can have them ready by November 12. There's a box in the fellowship hall for you to drop them in. Thank you!

Merry Christmas! Let us celebrate the ultimate gift, not just this day, but everyday. How blessed we are to have the opportunity to come together today with family and friends and celebrate the birth of our precious Savior!

In the sea of presents be sure to stop and dwell in the presence of Jesus. The moment He was born the world was forever changed.

We wish you all the Merriest of Christmases! Be blessed and we are excited to see what the New Year will bring!

Lots of new and exciting things coming to the DIUMC Youth Ministry! Including a new name, logo, and some new stuff in the youth room. Come check it all out tonight at the lock-in starting at 5pm and running through the night until 7am! We have a lot of awesomeness planned, so don't miss out. See you there! :)

We leave for summer camp TOMORROW! :) We are so excited about this next week! We will be meeting at the church at 7am, Sunday morning. At that time we will quickly pack up all luggage, go over a few things, and pray over the youth. We welcome anyone to come join us in prayer for the students at that time and to please be praying for the students throughout the week. Servants in Faith and Technology (SIFAT) here we come! :)
