Married to the former Angie Corlette of Darien with two sons, Chris and Michael, and their wives, Heather and Jessica, and 5 grandchildren, Seth, Sara, Keaton, Regan, and Maci. Mike and Angie met in 1982 while Mike was managing the Darien Fred’s Store. They were married in 1982 at Northside Baptist Church in Darien with Rev. Ed Hannah officiating.
Employed by the Department of Defense as a civil service worker since 1984, spending 5 years at Robins AFB and 29 years at Kings Bay Submarine Base. Plans to retire in March 2019 and pursue ministry full-time.
