We are most in need of canned pastas (Spaghettio's, Ravioli, Beef-a-Roni, Spaghetti), Mac and Cheese, Canned Soup and Fruit Cups. Our ability to buy in bulk has been greatly impacted due to shipping challenges and limits. We are unable to bulk order from our usual sources. Shopping at Sam's and Costco is an option but it increases our cost as we have to buy name brand products which are often almost twice the price of a store brand. If you want to buy store brand products and donate, we would love that! We will take all the help we can get. Food can be brought to Morning Star Church and placed in the Purple Collection bin outside of the lobby, brought with you to church, or dropped off any time the church is open.

We are still feeding over 200 kids per week and will continue to do so year round with weekend bags. Thanks to all who have donated in the pass and continue to support this ministry. Please share, share, share!

This is an easy and convenient way to donate. You purchase from the list and it will be delivered directly to the church. As always, you can purchase items anywhere and donate. We are happy to take the donations. You may find items less expensive somewhere else or generics and that's just fine. You can bring them to church with to donate, donate any time the office is open or leave your donation in the big purple box outside the main entrance to the church.

Most needed items are "main dish" items like canned pasta, soups, ramen, microwave meals and such. We still need the other stuff too! We go through lots and lots each and every week.

Backpack Impact Needs:

Hello, Everyone! We need your help. Backpack Impact helps 6 schools in our district by providing weekend food for kids on the free and reduced lunch program. One of them being Prairie View right in our backyard. The counselors have reached out with a request. Everyday, the teachers allow the students a snack time. Most of the kids we serve there at Prairie View don't bring a snack because they don't have anything to bring. The teachers would like to be able to offer a snack to those kids so that they too get snack time and can reenergize for learning. Many teachers have been funding this from their own pockets. Let's see if we as a community can step in a fill a need for these hungry kiddos.

We currently serve 74 kids a week at Prairie View. They have 28 days of in school left for the year. That means we need approx 2,072 snacks to get them through the end of the year.

Wanna help? Drop off a box or two of individually wrapped snacks to the church. (Cheez-its, Pretzels, Crackers, Cookies, Granola Bars...) I am also sharing my shopping list for this need. If it's easier, go online to Amazon using my link and order from the list.

Eva and Dalton spent part of their Spring Break giving back to their community. They packed bags for Back Pack Impact! They are the grandchildren of Carol and Chuck Kiefe. Thanks guys!

I hope everyone is staying healthy! We are still providing food to kids every week, both in person students and virtual students. We can use your help getting our shelves stocked. I am still struggling to order bulk orders of my canned soups and pasta. I am ordering off of Amazon, Sam's and Costco and shopping in person. However, canned soups and canned pastas are significantly more expensive when I can't buy a store brand. For instance, Everyday Value Canned Ravioli is about .89 per can. Chef Boy-Ardee is about 1.29 a can. When you are buying 400 cans at a time, it adds up quickly. I am going to list my top needs right now:

Hi Everyone! Now that school has begun, we are once again providing weekend food bags for over 200 kids in five different schools in our district. Want to help? I am going to list my top five needs:

Canned Pasta
Juice Boxes
Canned Soup
Fruit Cups
Individual Snacks

Donated items can be dropped off in the purple boxes outside of the modular units behind New Hope Resource Center, or at the office Mon-Thur 9-3, or in the lobby whenever church is open.

So proud of this ministry! It’s takes a village and the village has responded! Weekend bags were picked up today for 209 kiddos. Thank you to everyone! That includes those that donated, those who have packed, those that dropped off items, those that distributed and delivered! Each of you are very appreciated! We will continue to collect items and create the bags for these kids. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! Pics of just a few of the folks that helped today. I didn’t get a pic of Craig and Ellen who spent hours packing bags this morning, but thank you! Thanks Robyn Martin for the pics today and for everything you are doing to help with this! Thanks Ellen Ritter Meier for helping load cars and all you have done! Have I mentioned how much I love my village!

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has answered the call and donated to our Backpack Impact Ministry. We will be able to provide weekend bags for these kiddos for the next two weekends! We will be continuing to provide food bags and we need your help.
