Pastor Todd is back and says:
"And…it’s September! Wow, how the year is flying by!
And with that, your pastors deeply appreciate the space and time given them for rejuvenation and renewal—particularly considering the abundance of activity and ministry so far this year. But trust we are both delighted to be back to the life of our vibrant congregation.
This Sunday, following an abbreviated worship service and Holy Communion, we will devote a portion of our worship time to the care of our shared communal space—acts of worship that can be engaged by people of all ages and abilities. We will focus on a small batch of low-effort but deferred tasks (like cleaning windows, organizing storage areas, or working on the playground space) along with a couple of projects that express care and compassion for others, including writing birthday cards to incarcerated q***r and trans people through a partnership with ABO Comix, a Bay Area non-profit that amplifies the voices of incarcerated LGBTQ+ individuals through comic books, art anthologies, and advocacy.
It is said that “many hands make light work.” And those hands joined in work alongside one another offer an additional form of worship that will most certainly honor God in the process while also caring for our God-given resources."
Note: For those of you attending this service virtually, if you would like to help write and color birthday postcards to incarcerated LGBTQ+ people, email the church office and we will make them available to you by mail.
Afterward, we will share a picnic lunch together (sandwiches, chips, and tea) in Koinonia … or folx can join the Lunch Bunch outing.
Worship service is at 9.30am in person or online. Link in bio☝️
