The heat was tough. They kept going.
Three mornings of soccer in the summer heat gave our campers plenty of opportunities to practice something that can't be taught through a drill: perseverance.
They ran, competed, learned, encouraged one another, and kept pushing even when the temperatures climbed. There were plenty of water breaks, tired legs, and sweaty jerseys—but there were also plenty of smiles and athletes who refused to quit.
And our campers weren't the only ones demonstrating perseverance. Coach Aaron was back on the field just days after surgery, coaching with his foot in a walking boot because he was determined to be there for our athletes. His commitment was a powerful example of what it means to show up, give your best, and keep going even when circumstances aren't easy.
We're grateful for every coach and volunteer who helped keep our athletes encouraged, hydrated, and cared for throughout the week.
The soccer skills will continue to develop, but the lessons of perseverance, determination, and endurance can last a lifetime.
Sometimes the biggest victories aren't on the scoreboard. They're found in refusing to give up.
