Today is Memorial Day, a day we honor those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Pictured below is Donald Herndon, a member of Schoolfield Pentecostal Holiness, when he was drafted to serve in Vietnam. At the age of 26 he was killed in Vietnam on 2-20-1968 . Don and Gladys, his widow, used to ride to church with us every Sunday before they got their own car. Don had a beautiful solo voice and worked with the teenagers and youth before being drafted. His widow Gladys has remained unmarried after losing the love of her life. Another relative of my Family was my Mama's cousin Harry Scearce, who lost his life in WWII on March 4, 1945 at the tender age of 18. His brother Troy reached the rank of Major in the army, Troy's son Roger achieved the rank of Brigadier General. In a time when protestors are shouting "Death to America" and "Death to Israel". in my opinion, they need to be deported to a nation that lacks our freedom May God Bless America and let us not forget those that paid the ultimate price for us
