Beth Chaim Congregation

Beth Chaim Congregation Shalom! Welcome to the Beth Chaim family. Located in Danville and the heart of the Tri-Valley, we are your Reform Jewish community.

We welcome you to join the Beth Chaim family, a congregation with a unique and vibrant Jewish spirit! We share friendships, simchas and we have a deep sense of compassion which is evident in how we care for one another in times of need, and how we reach out to the greater community to offer support in acts of tikkun olam. Beth Chaim Congregation provides spiritual, social, cultural and educational

programs for adults and children that respond to the needs and interests of our members. We're proud that our members are found in many leadership roles in community-wide Jewish and secular organizations and activities. We are delighted that we have been able to share our Jewish heritage with the greater Tri-Valley community for the past four decades. We remain unaffiliated to honor all existing movements (backgrounds and beliefs) of Judaism and to embrace all who choose Beth Chaim as their spiritual home, including interfaith families. Come and experience how Beth Chaim can enrich your life as part of the Tri-Valley community.

Yesterday at Danville's Town Council meeting, Rabbi Dave represented the Jewish community and received Danville's proclamation in recognition of Jewish Heritage Month. Thank you, Town of Danville, CA, for recognizing Jewish contributions in our town and in our country, and for affirming that Danville is a safe and welcoming place to live openly and proudly as Jews.

Beth Chaim stands in solidarity with the Muslim community of San Diego and with all communities targeted by hatred and violence. In moments like these, we are reminded that protecting one another and building a society rooted in dignity, safety, and peace is a shared sacred responsibility.

From Rabbi Dave: I will rarely privilege myself to use our Beth Chaim page to share a personal post. This is one of those times. I'm grateful to my respected colleague Rabbi Jonathan E. Blake for summarizing Haviv Rettig Gur's comprehensive response to editorial column by Nicholas Kristof in the The New York Times. In doing so, Rabbi Blake shares Gur's views, his views, and my own. Please read completely. Please share widely.
