The Stake Presidency was saddened to learn of the recent passing at 90 years old of William Watts Parmley. Bill lived a life of extraordinary Church service, including being a former bishop in the Alamo Ward, and the first president of the Danville Stake.
He was called as an Area Authority Seventy in April, 1997 and from 2003-2009 he served as a General Authority Seventy, which included service as a member of the presidency of the Africa Southeast Area and later as Area President. From 2009-2021, he served as the President of the Sacramento, California Temple, where his wife Shanna served concurrently as Temple Matron.
Bill is survived by Shanna and four children, Michael, Todd, John, and Ann Smith of the Danville Ward.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning in the Alamo Building. A Greet the Family will be held between 10:00 and 10:45 AM, followed by hte funeral at 11 AM.
