Mens group my house tonight. One of Pastor Jay's repeated sayings about Following Jesus is. "It is simple, but it is not easy". What comes to your mind when you hear this? One thing that comes to me is , the simple part , if I Acknowledge Him ( Jesus) before others here, He ( Jesus) will acknowledge me before the Father in heaven, Matthew10:32. But the not so easy part is, after I acknowledge Him ( Jesus ) ,some here acknowledge me differently now, I'm labeled a Bible thumper, Holier than thou, hypocritical, judgemental, one of them, some see me an outsider now. Bring your thoughts about this. There should come a time in your walk With Jesus that you walk away From some people, places and things of the world. Believing is simple, Beginning is not so easy.

In more than one place in scripture it says we will rule alongside Jesus one day, judging others and even angels.1 Corinthians 6:2-3. I think to myself I dont want to be in that position of handing out penalties of guilt of any kind, as a judge does.. I have thought on this more than once and every time I do there is always that inner voice that says. You dont seem to have an issue judging others Now !. The Truth lives inside me now, and sometimes it speaks the hard Truth to me. Sometimes I imagine a little Jesus bobble head shaking its head No. And its stuck right on top of my own shoulder, looking at me, just shaking away. I laugh at that last sentence, but also shake my head at myself.

Pastor Jay's words today were spot on with what we see in alot of Churches and with many Church leaders.. He said dont let your charisma be bigger than your character. Charisma comes with a large outward appearance. Usually with great confidence and charm. I think of a colorfully dressed , fast talking car salesman drawing the crowds, only thinking of The Sale. . Hehe. While character is something found on the inside, his speech is about longevity , future, hope but also hard truths and repentance. Paul warns of the smooth talkers in Roman's 16:18 There is nothing wrong with having some charisma, it might get some in the door, but it's seeing a Godly character with a good heart that will keep them inside and help get them to know the one we call The Door( Jesus). Many only think of filling the seats , im thinking about what's filling your heart. Im not thinking about a sale, im telling you about a Free Gift.

Sometimes Joyce will shake her head at me because I will commit to a sizable concrete job with only a handshake.. I relied on what I thought was good character, I believed in them and thought them truthful. But more than once this trust in another has come back to burn me. We all have probably been let down by trusting in another. But I too have let others down in my life. Mark Loyd speaks about this very thing tonight at V3 Saturday Nights. "Trust".
After being burned we find it hard to put our trust back in others. We get gun shy as they say. I have these last couple years began putting my trust in God. And He hasn't let me down once. And what's happened is others have began trusting in me more again ,even after I burned them. I think of Isaiah 61:3 Beauty for ashes. Through repentance i am changing those ashes of burning people through mistrust into becoming an Oak of Righteousness. God can restore you if you put your Trust in Him. I cant say I am that full grown oak yet, but i am planted and growing .

Most men like talking about horsepower, but are captivated by powerful things in general. But what is Most Powerful? King Ahab in 1 Kings Chapter 18 would see first hand where true power comes from. Can you even imagine a man out running a horse and chariot for almost 20 miles in the rain? King Ahab witnessed this firsthand by the prophet Elijah. If you find this interesting go back before this in scripture and see what Elijah had done just previously through The Power of The Lord. The last time Elijah is seen exiting the earth involves another chariot , so read on.

Everything will be brought to light one day. Meaning the truth of all will be revealed. Its taught modern man has been around 100s of thousands years, yet many man made objects have been found in layers of dug up coal that is said to be 100s of millions old. Somethings not adding up. Either man is older than they think, or Everything is not as old as they think. Can't have both. I think science is awesome, but if things are discovered that dont fit into their narrative , it is hidden. If you have a materialistic view of our existence, do a dive into some Christian Apologetics. But have an open mind, and let the science open your eyes, let the light reveal the truth. Cellular remnants found on millions of years old dinosaur fossils, human and dinosaur tracks covered and fossilized together.The James Web telescope is looking back to what they say is close to the beginning of everything, yet the galaxies are fully formed, not quite what they were expecting to find. God said , just open your eyes, look and I will be revealed in what you see.

Thank you one and all for the birthday wishes and kind words Sunday. Scripture says kind words are like honey,sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24. Words matter, they can bring peace and comfort to another. Simply acknowledging another can make a difference in one's life. I am surrounded by a group that brings me joy, lifts me up and gives me hope for the world, you all put a smile on my face and bring a warmth inside my heart... If all in the world could be surrounded as I am by people such as You. It would be a much better place.

Memorial day. I Believe Jesus is the greatest to ever utter a word, and His greatest words are about Love and He said there is no greater way to express love than to lay down your own life for another. John 15:13 Jesus did this For All. But so did many Soldiers ,who's name i do not Know. I also think of law enforcement that charged towards the gunshots, and also firemen that ran into a burning building, never to come out. Many service members never came back home, so that we may have freedom, life and our own secure safe homes and land. Let us stand today and remember all those that have Fallen.

I spoke about Default Settings last night. In a nutshell it was about not going back to what we have gathered since birth in a fallen world, growing up around and dwelling with sinful people , its easy to fall back to comfortable things, old places, people, ways, habits. Instead of going back To, let us go out From, let us go from whats given. The Holy Spirit. Let us go out forward from our Stronghold, not look or fall back to what we were. Let us not go back to fleshly settings, but go forward with Faith settings. Many say we are all natural born sinners, but I say sinning becomes natural because we are born and grow up with sinners in a fallen world. Jesus simply said Follow Me, thats simple, He did the hard work and died on The Cross. but whats not easy is Following Him means turning from The World, taking up your cross and dying to self.
Don't Look Back. Surrender and Follow Him. He has some new settings for you. A better configuration. Be transformed or keep conforming with the world. Romans 12:2.
