This is the full process of setting a mid-winter Committal service featuring a John Deere themed Wilbert Continental.

It is an honor to work for families in my local area, as well as the community I grew up in. Small towns are tight knit communities and its my honor to provide the committal service set ups for families in this time of grief.

Over the years of creating Burial Vault and Headstone Cleaning Informational Videos, it has been my experience that in some areas of the US, families are asked or required to leave the cemetery before the interment takes place.

It is my opinion that the interment process is extremely important for many families in the funeral process. For myself, I feel as though it offers a sense of closure and finality to the funeral experience that is necessary in the grieving and healing process.

This video does not show the sealing and lowering process of a Wilbert Continental being closed and lowered into the grave. Many families do witness this process.

This process is identical to the sealing of a grave liner; even though the grave liner does not have a butyl adhesive seal, we display the vault and close it in the same manner.

When the base is raised into the lid, the seal is dispersed and activated, giving the burial vault its air and water tight seal.

For any burial vault, we have nearly endless options in terms of vault customizations, including any paint colors desired. I've created many John Deere Burial Vaults, including one for my grandfather. The display method shown in this video is the way we display every burial vault at our company, even when displaying two vaults at one service.

Suspending the vault over the grave allows the vault to be fully visible at the graveside, and it also allows for the vault to be sealed above ground ensuring a proper seal without the risk of soil or obstruction.

Setting Ovation Equipment on a side by side committal service is my personal preference, I feel as though it allows the vault covers to be more easily visible, as long as grave piles are not left by the grave diggers.

Side by side committal services are relatively rare, and while all funerals are tragic, usually a side by side service results from an even more tragic situation. Although over the 12 or so side by side services I've performed, over half have been a result of an elderly couple passing just days apart.

Elderly couples passing away days apart is a deeply touching phenomenon often attributed to their profound emotional bond, sometimes called "broken heart syndrome" or "widowhood effect," where the loss of one partner triggers a rapid decline or desire to join the other, with many stories highlighting couples dying hours or days apart, holding hands, and finding comfort in a shared end to their lifelong journey.

These particular burial vaults were ordered in Silver, but our paint colors are almost limitless, and the vault base and cover do not need to be the same color.

It was an honor to be the vault man on this side by side committal service, on a service such as this there is no room for error. I believe I did everything i could to provide this family with a safe shelter at the graveside to mourn and celebrate two long lives lived, God Bless.
