The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish family extends heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of former parish member Douglas J. Kafka. (71). Douglas died Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD after an extended illness. Doug’s wishes were that no services be held at this time. Interment will be be held at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Cody, NE at a later date.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace!

Please join us at Assumption Parish--Dante for our annual Harvest Festival. Serving begins at 4;00-7:00 p.m. (There will also be to go meals available.) We are serving broasted chicken, mashed potatoes/gravy, dressing, coleslaw, cucumbers, tomatoes, kolaches, rollicky, homemade pies and desserts. There will also be bingo and games in the Dante Dance Hall.
