A Prayer for Christian Fathers
Heavenly Father, you entrusted your Son Jesus,
the child of Mary, to the care of Joseph, an earthly father.
Bless all fathers as they care for their families.
Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience.

Support them in the work they have to do,
protecting those who look to them,
as we look to you for love and salvation,
through Jesus Christ our rock and defender.

When is Palm Sunday?
Palm Sunday, the last Sunday during Lent, takes place on March 29 in 2026. It signifies Jesus’s triumphant return to Jerusalem after spending 40 days and nights in the desert.

Ash Wednesday on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Why is Lent 40 days long?
Because Christ suffered in the desert for 40 days.

How is the date of Ash Wednesday determined?
Ash Wednesday always falls six and half weeks before Easter.

How is the date of Easter determined?
Easter is celebrated on the Sunday following the first full moon of spring (March 21 or later.)

When does Lent end?
The Lord’s Supper or Holy Thursday. This year, it ends on April 2.

When is Good Friday?
One day after Holy Thursday/Maundy Thursday.
