Many of us are familiar with Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments starring Charlton Heston. Believe it or not, this epic film is a remake of DeMille’s silent classic of the same name! The 1923 original is a two-part film: a prologue recounts the biblical story of the exodus from Egypt, and a second part presents a “modern-day” morality play that follows two brothers, one who follows the ten commandments, on one who doesn’t. Come witness the spectacle of this 1920’s silent film while listening to live improvised accompaniment on St. Peter’s mighty Peragallo pipe organ. Boston-based organist extraordinaire, Peter Krasinski, will be our organist. This free event (donations gratefully welcomed) is being presented as part of St. Peter’s 175 Anniversary. Come celebrate with us! Friday, February 13, 6:30 pm.

Franz Liszt's "Via Crucis," composed in 1878, is a poignant musical journey through the Stations of the Cross. Liszt, deeply influenced by his own spiritual reflections and religious devotion, crafted a work of profound emotional depth and spiritual resonance.

Composed for pipe organ and choir, St. Peter Church will be presenting this deeply spiritual work live within the context of its Friday evening Stations of the Cross. Come embark on a profound musical pilgrimage, journeying alongside Christ through the depths of human experience and the promise of divine grace.
