Celebrate Recovery Redeemer Lutheran Church

Celebrate Recovery Redeemer Lutheran Church Jesus Christ, the One and Only True Higher Power This experience allows us to "be changed." Jesus Christ, the One and Only True Higher Power!

A Christ centered program that gives people the resources and relationships to help recover from life's hurts, habits, and hang-ups. This is a program for anyone struggling with past or current dysfunctions or compulsions, whether they are affecting their own life or the lives of those around them. The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives th

rough the Eight Recovery Principles found in the Beatitudes and Christ-Centered Twelve Steps. We open the door by sharing our experiences, victories and hopes with one another as well as learning to accept God's grace in our lives. By working the Christ-centered steps and applying their Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.

Sometimes it seems easier to see the bad we did instead of focusing on the good God is doing through us.

However, once we accept the work Jesus did on the cross, we are made brand new and get to think of ourselves that way!

“And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:13-14‬

For the months of January and February, and in consideration of the increase in transmission of the Covid/Omicron virus in our communities, even among the vaccinated & boosted, Celebrate Recovery at Redeemer Lutheran Church has decided to suspend meeting in person, and will return to holding our Tuesday night meetings on Zoom. A great question to ask yourself during your daily inventory is “In which areas of my life am I not well?”

This exercise is not meant to make anyone feel bad, but to take an honest assessment. Once you area aware of being unwell, you can ask for Christ’s help to get well.

Through the dark valleys, clouds, or storms, God the The Father is with us… always.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:1-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Have you made the decision to let God manage your life?

Step 3. We made a decision to turn our lives and our wills over to the care of God.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Romans 12:1 NIV

What has it looked like for you to turn your life or will over to the care of God? What changes have you seen in your life?

Identifying & confronting denial is very often not a simple thing or even a once & done thing. The same &/or different kind of denial can develop/resurface over time. The enemy is always happy to keep us trapped &/or retrap us with the same/different denial defense mechanism. Stay vigilant & stay connected.

Offering forgiveness doesn’t let them off the hook… it lets YOU off the hook. Conversely, holding on to unforgiveness keeps you held hostage by the action of others.

To fully recover and reach the potential God has planned for our lives, we must ask God for the strength to offer forgiveness.

Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when possible, except when to do so would harm them or others. (Steps 8 and 9)

“Happy are the merciful.” Matthew 5:7a TEV; “Happy are the peacemakers” Matthew 5:9 TEV

Come join us and begin to develop your own personal relationship with Him, or enhance your existing relationship with Him. He wants to heal us all and His healing lasts.

Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him and that He has the power to help me recover. (Step 2)
“Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 TEV, NIV

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?” Matthew‬ ‭6:28-30‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God helps flowers grow… Yet, we so often question why we have to walk through hard things. Whatever it is that you’re going through, God can help you with His power.

When you understand how impactful God’s help has been in your life, you cannot keep it to yourself.

Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and my words. (Step 12)

“Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.” Matthew 5:10 TEV

Who can you tell about what God has done for you?

When was the last time you told your recovery story?
