Yom Kippur has many liturgical litanies. A litany in liturgy is a series of phrases with the same structure, often with many of the same words with a few key words varied.

For example:

El Hanun Shemakh, El Rahum Shemakh.
El Adir Shemakh, El Barukh Shemakh.

(Gracious God is your name, Merciful God is your name
Noble God is your name, Blessed God is your name.)

Here the pattern is El ____ Shemakh (____God is your name).

Often times, litanies are filled in with a constant refrain, tantamount to a chorus.

In the poem linked below, the refrain is

Habbita be'oni 'amakh,
Uslah lehatttat 'amakh.

(Look at the affliction of your people
And pardon the sin of your people).

Recited on the day of Yom Kippur. This is a litany of descriptors of God in alphabetical order, starting with the second stanza.

This weekend is Shabbat Nahamu / the Sabbath of Consolation, which we observe after the period of mourning for the Temple. We are also reciting the 10 commandments from Parashat Va'ethannan. Before reciting the 10 Commandments, it is customary for us to recite this song:
