* 1960년 충남 아산시 모산, 장로교 목사 가정에서 출생.
* 천안중앙고, 연세대학교 (BA, 신학과), SFTS (MDiv), 예일대학교 (STM), GTU (PhD, 구약학), CCSF (AA, 중국어 & 스페인어) 졸업.
* 1994년 "성경공부와 찬양이 아름다운 교회" 비전을 품고 금문교회 개척.
* 2002년부터 콜롬비아, 러시아, 아프리카, 중국, 멕시코 선교지 신학교에서 강의.
* 아내 조정림 전도사와 대학생 아들 명인이 교회 인근 샌부르노 거주.
